Can't see the point in being glued to a screen for 6/7/8 hrs every ASX day--more to life than that surely

that is another missundwestand for the day or short term trading flower.
if only glue on the screen that can make you a good day trader, then life will be a lot easier.
there are a lot of things involve in it!!

anyway, you are a very active contributor to this forum given the time and frequency that you are spent on posting.

day and night somet times
-------------------------------------

Night depends on where you live--we in WA are 2/3 hrs behind the ES---toying with 8ema as an entry point given its the quick and the dead era we now live in, IMO very difficult to make money if you dont enjoy the trading evironment.

Can't see the point in being glued to a screen for 6/7/8 hrs every ASX day--more to life than that surely.

EB--day trading not my scene--but as a general observation anything one does should also be fun---that applies to the stockmarket which personally has been and continues to be profitable fun.

Marcus Padley's weekend column in this weekend's papers deals with "traders who choose to seize the day".
IMO a very unbiased description of what day trading is (ideally) about:

Hats of to day traders who stick to their guns

From own experience, I find his closing remarks especially right on the money:

Then there's the main drawback - it's a full-time job. The day trader will almost certainly have to go through a period of unprofitable pain - an experience that clears most out before they even get started. They spend time building nothing - no asset is being created - unlike a conventional business. It can be stressful and lonely (hence the ''lone rangers'' tag). It has a high attrition rate - only the devoted survive. Day trading is not glamorous - it's hard yakka. Respect to those of you who have made a living doing it.

I trade daily, but I am not a licensed adviser. Whether you find my ideas reasonable or not: The only person responsible for your actions is YOU.
I follow two rules: (1) There are no sacred truths. All assumptions must be critically examined. Arguments from authority are worthless. (2) Whatever is inconsistent with observed facts must be discarded or revised. We must understand the Market as it is and not confuse how it is with how we wish it to be. (inspired by Carl Sagan)

ATN could be a daytrade if it hits 4 and fills the gap.
