Recommendation The Board of Directors of GroPep, with the assistance of its advisers, has carefully considered the Proposal. Subject to the conclusions of the independent expert, the Board intends to recommend unanimously that GroPep shareholders support the Proposal in the absence of a superior proposal. The Directors and their associates also intend to vote in favour of the Proposal in respect of their own shares in the absence of a superior proposal and subject to the conclusions of the independent expert. The Scheme documentation will contain the Directors’ formal recommendations and the independent expert’s report. Shareholders are advised to read these documents in full before voting on the Proposal. Comment Commenting on the Proposal, the Chairman of GroPep, Mr Richard England, said today “The Board of GroPep is pleased with this Proposal and has concluded that it is the most effective means of maximising shareholder value. The price of $2.05 per share provides all of GroPep’s shareholders with the opportunity to realise cash for their investment at a substantial premium to recent trading prices.†GroPep’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Bob Finder, said the Proposal will generate significant benefits for the shareholders, customers and employees of GroPep. He added that “Novozymes is a leading global bioindustrial manufacturer that will bring extensive management, research and marketing capabilities to enhance GroPep’s market access and boost development of our product portfolio.†-------------------- LIVE BIG

Hi Bloodclot Not sure if you saw, but GRO is the subject of a takeover offer from Novozymes, at $2.05 cash per share.

Trading Halt after the bell and finished up strongly for the day on small but reasonable volume for GRO.
Wonder if they are going to have a go at BGN? I hope for GRO holders it's not BGN and vice versa for BGN holders. Couldn't be the long awaited restructure as that wouldn't require a trading halt, would it? |

Been very quiet on this thread. I think everyone bailed after the last results.
Anyone know if there is a reason for the downturn in GRO today? Someone wanted out for whatever reason and no depth to sell into. Has been stalled around the mid-150's for some time waiting for news of the restructuring so was today a buying opportunity or is there more selling to come? On the watch list again. |

I read their 1/2 yearly announcement negatively. "Slowing growth, difficult to predict future demand, reliant on one blockbuster product, needing to diversify" --- all sounded like a softening up excercise to me. Looks like a few others have an alternative view.

Took the opportunity to lighten after the ann.
Seems GRO may be going to revisit the Contract Manufacturing space which nearly killed them a few years ago. |
