Check the Stock Analysis article and you may get the answer - it starts with L?!?!?! ;-)

Hope LS gets a big NO from shareholders.

Yeah..... could argue about the pros and cons of both parties till the cows come home...

At the end of the day, what counts is the SP performance.

What has been highlighted is that current board need to be more accountable to the shareholders and that Lone Star is getting their attention.

It is up to the shareholder to decide what combination of directors is chosen.
You don't have to drop 2 and add 5 directors for example.

You could consider dropping 1 and add 2 directors etc.

Basically avoid the extremes that both parties want and go for something conversative to "balance" the board.

Hi Fraz - the Lone Star bid is a bid without anything for the shareholder but control of the company for Lone Star. If they like AZZ, make a bid for it not this underhanded approach - similar thing happened with Buccaneer and now they are in administration after the "new board" found they couldn't handle the situation like the "old board". They claim expertise but their 5 point plan is a wish list. The co hasn't set the world on fire but their certainly better off than they were when they had a series of "dud" drills and had to get "new blood" or go broke. Cruickshank basically saved the company and has given it producing assets.

Hope other holders see off this opportunistic board play.

I've had calls from the left foot and the right foot to gauge my opinion and try to get my vote. I'm still a little undecided coz I'm not all that happy with the current board but the raiders don't have an offer that holds up other than to make themselves seem important!
I'm thinking to leave the status quo. icon14.gif

the games afoot!

Seems like an US activist has 5% of AZZ and wants to push through major board changes to extract better returns for shareholders.
Its unclear whom they are working on behalf of but its possible a Fund Manager is behind it.

If anything it will make the SP more volatile in the short term.

Analyst review of AZZ after the aborted Permian sale....

Figure of $3 per share is mentioned in the article (as well as a more conservative $1.50 figure) once they achieve sufficient production rates...

http://shares.intelligentinvestor.com.au/a...te-10336864.cfm

Wonder if AZZ can achieve 3500bopd from its planned Northern Star Horizontal wells like some of AZZ neigbhours?

Still makes us aware of the value of these leases and just what a bigger buyer will pay. I think that AZZ can do better for shareholders by adding value to their land and attracting a buyer a bit later at a much higher price.
Cheers all,
