Thanks for the article. The market has shown a little bit of interest in Clq over the last ~ 4-6 weeks, after a long period of going lower.
On memory the predicted IRR wasn't magnificent. Whilst it's a long life project, at $1.5 billion the projected cost is massive, esp as lots of infrastructure is readable available.

More than a dozen parties have now expressed interest in taking up as much as a 50% stake in Clean TeQ Holdings Ltd.’s Sunrise nickel-cobalt-scandium project, Chief Executive Officer Sam Riggall said Monday in an interview. They include companies in regions that until recently had shown less impetus to tie up raw material supplies.

“It’s dawning on North America and Europe that there’s a raw materials issue that needs to be addressed here,” Riggall said by phone. “For the previous two years, I’ve been wearing out a lot of shoe leather and banging on a lot of doors trying to get interest in Europe and North America with very little success. In the last six months things have changed quite dramatically.”

Extract from recent Corporate Presentation - Clean TeQ commences partnering process for Sunrise

QUOTE
• As announced on 4 June 2019, Clean TeQ has commenced a
partnering process for its wholly-owned Sunrise Battery Materials
Complex (“Sunrise”)

• The announcement followed numerous in-bound enquiries from a
range of participants in the electric vehicle supply chain in relation to
project level ownership, long-term offtake and other financing
arrangements

Macquarie Capital has been appointed to run the partnering process
where Clean TeQ is considering a divestment of up to 50% interest in
Sunrise, in combination with long-term offtake

• Clean TeQ is targeting to complete the partnering process in the
second half of 2019 in order to make a final investment decision for
Sunrise in 4Q 2019

Clean TeQ has appointed four leading global banks as Mandated
Lead Arrangers to progress a project debt facility targeting at least
50% of the total funding requirement for the project

Big task - let's hope they are successful

Total short positions as at 25/6/19 = 5.19% - might suggest some are not confident they can achiev?

SP up 9.38% today @ 52.5c on no news. Recently advised they will form an incorporated joint venture with Ionic Industries Pty Ltd - Ionic Industries is 15% owned by ASX SER As well, CLQ got a mention in Macquarie's recent commodity price forecast update (see below) which could explain SP rise.

QUOTE
Joint venture to progress graphene oxide technology development
MELBOURNE, Australia – Clean TeQ Holdings Limited (Clean TeQ or Company)
(ASX/TSX:CLQ; OTCQX:CTEQF) advises that, following the encouraging progress towards
development of a graphene-oxide based water filtration membrane, Clean TeQ is to form
an incorporated joint venture with Ionic Industries Pty Ltd (Ionic) to further develop and
commercialise this exciting opportunity.

As previously announced, Clean TeQ has been working with Ionic Industries and Monash
University to develop, manufacture and apply graphene oxide membranes for water filtration
applications. While graphene and graphene oxide are the world’s thinnest, strongest and
most conductive materials yet discovered, with huge potential for industrial water filtration
applications, difficulty in manufacturing processes and high production costs have to date
severely limited their commercialisation.

Over the past 18 months, Clean TeQ and Ionic have successfully developed a process to
manufacture high purity graphene oxide that can be applied to a membrane support to
create a highly efficient graphene nanofiltration membrane (GO-Membrane). Significantly,
the GO-Membrane manufacturing process has been demonstrated on commercial scale
industrial equipment.

Ann released today - CLQ hosts senior Members of Parliament at Sunrise Project - mind you the event was covered on twitter 4 days ago - must be trying to get some positives out there to support falling SP, which is currently 69c - a long way from the high of $1.78 in November last year

You're welcome.

That capex figure certainly put a dampener on the CLQ share price.

CLQ's trump card is, IMHO, it's billionaire backer - Robert Friedland - and his financial supporters in other projects with which he is involved. If anyone can pull off financing Sunrise, he could. He has close ties with CITIC Metal - they recently acquired a 19.9% stake in Ivanhoe Mines, raising approximately C$723 m to help advance several Ivanhoe Southern Africa projects. Perhaps he can sweet talk them into backing Sunrise?

Time will tell

Thank you for posting info here. I have CLQ on my watch list, but not holding for now.

Hope this company can pull off a successful outcome on the mining front. Serious cash required. I note over the years the significant increases in costs. It was rare to see DFS figures in the billions in days gone bye, but now it's common enough … hard for the average bear to wrap their heads around those numbers. I'm an "average bear" by the way …
