These vaccine trials are old tricks at next level. Only this time, its in the west and endorsed by the politicians. You can see why Moderna has hired new legal counsel and Merck ditched out on them. Doesn't it make you a bit cynical?

Sometimes you need @ little perspective.
From Wall Street Journal

QUOTE
SAN FRANCISCO—Mike Enright overdosed three times in December. A longtime heroin user, he said he didn’t know his limit after switching to fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid.
“It just hits you so much harder,” Mr. Enright said, sitting on the sidewalk not far from the tent where he sleeps.
Long a scourge on the East Coast, fentanyl is now driving a rapid increase in overdose deaths in the Western U.S.
In the Seattle area, overdose deaths involving fentanyl were up 57% in 2020 over the previous year, according to data from the county medical examiner. Preliminary data show deaths from synthetic opioids like fentanyl rose 162% in the Las Vegas area last year. In Los Angeles County, a recent report blamed fentanyl for a 26% jump in overdose deaths among the homeless population during the first seven months of 2020.
The problem is particularly acute in San Francisco, where a record 708 people died of drug overdoses in 2020, a 61% increase from the previous year. By comparison, 254 people died of Covid-19 in the city last year.
So far, this year has been worse: 135 died by overdose in January and February, on pace for more than 800 deaths by the end of the year.

Fentanyl can be 50 times more potent than heroin, making it possible to overdose on tiny amounts. As a result, when fentanyl hits the streets in force, more people tend to die. That is what has happened in New England and the Rust Belt, where beginning nearly a decade ago it was often mixed into heroin. In some places in the Eastern U.S. it has all but replaced heroin as a popular street opioid.
Fentanyl in the U.S. is often made by Mexican cartels using precursor chemicals from China, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration. It took off in the East faster, in part because of the region’s longstanding problem with opioids. The West has historically been a bigger methamphetamine market, but the cartels are now aggressively pushing fentanyl there, too, often in the form of fake pain pills, said Wade Shannon, special agent in charge of the DEA’s San Francisco office.
Though fentanyl began to show up in San Francisco around 2015, only since 2018 has it become widely available, according to local officials, nonprofit workers and drug users. Overdose deaths in San Francisco increased 173% between 2018 and 2020.
The pandemic has compounded the overdose crisis, according to public health officials. Isolation, stress and job loss drove many people to drugs; with homeless shelters and other congregant living spaces closed, addicts often used drugs alone. If they overdosed, no one was there to help them.
A projected 88,295 people in the U.S. died from overdoses in the 12-month period that ran through last August, according to the most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In all of 2019, there were 70,630 drug deaths, a record that was likely broken last year.
Opioids including fentanyl were involved in about 70% of overdose deaths in 2019, according to the CDC.

Lets hope the war on Covid turns out better than the war on drugs.
Mick

You will get the NRA argument: Guns don't kill people!

In other words, the clots have nothing to do with the vaccine.

Yeah. Sure.

Just wash your hands regularly and theres a good chance you wont get covid. If you do, you will be back to normal in about a week.

Experts meeting as CMO confirms blood clotting patient took AstraZeneca vaccine
Tom Burton

Experts are meeting to consider the death of a NSW woman from blood clots, with the Chief Medical Officer confirming she had been given the AstraZeneca vaccine.

“People should be cautious because it’s about jumping to conclusions,” Professor Paul Kelly said.

“We do have a very well thought through and very long-standing approach to such matters.

“The TGA has convened a special expert group to examine the information we have so far that has been gathered from the clinical team that looked after this woman and from NSW Health.

“They will be meeting today at 4pm this afternoon and there will be more information after that meeting.

“In terms of where they have come to with that conclusion, it is possible they will not make a conclusion today because of the complexity of the case.

“I am familiar with some of those details, but I am sure people would realise for privacy reasons it is not appropriate for me to go into those at this time, but that information will be available to the expert group which will get that information put together.

“It is true she had the AstraZeneca vaccine a few days before she became ill. Whether those two events are related is a matter for those experts that will be meeting today.”

Bourla added that he thinks people may need to be immunised against coronavirus annually.

I suspect the technology Novavax is using will be the same technology which is used by the Chinese and Russians. A bit like each party developing their own aerofoils for a plane once flight was discovered. Then putting it out there to see which one performs best.

In this case, flight is gene therapy. The aerofoil is the modality of delivery for the oligonucleotide and the test is made under false pretences of a pandemic to skip around all the rules required for proper trials. Such a crisis also minimizes the risk of bandits stealing the IP.

It appears the US planes don't fly too well.

In the west we are not told anything on the efficacy of the Russian or Chinese vaccines. We would be told if people were falling over dead from them though or if the pandemic was still causing social harm.

We can only assume, everything is in order as it should be. The Germans are even in discussions to take the Russian vaccine.

Meanwhile, Novavax' vaccine isn't getting any authority for use from the Americans despite data showing its the most efficacious of all.

No word from Novartis, Roche, Bayer on what they are doing. Instead, we get induced into an experimental drug trial under false pretences of urgency due to a manufactured crisis....a deadly pandemic which the majority of people recover from in a week or so.

Denmark decides .....

QUOTE
Denmark has become the first country to stop using the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine in all age groups because of a putative link to a blood disease that the government believes to affect about one in 40,000 recipients.

The Danish authorities had been among the first European governments to suspend the jab at the start of March amid early reports of people developing life-threatening blood clots several days after being given their first dose.

While other EU member states have resumed administering the vaccine to older adults, Denmark provisionally withdrew it for the past five weeks. On Wednesday the Danish health authority said that the pause would be made permanent. The 149,000 people who have had a first AstraZeneca dose will receive a different vaccine for their second shot. It is expected to delay the country’s vaccination campaign by more than a month.

Cheers
