It sounds like an off-market trade, probably from one distressed substantial shareholder to another.

I encourage people to watch the DVD titled 'The Corporation' to fully understand the exploitative nature intrinsic to corporations. Then, immediately after to watch the 'Inconvenient Truth' to put it in context.

Hmmm something I don't understand here. On the 13th Oct there was a "change in substantial holding" notification were an investment group increased its holdings (about 10 million shares) on the 9/10/08. This isn't reflected on the daily trade summary. Why is that so and could someone with the skill of understanding these things please explain it to a pleb like me?

(there is also the fact that we have not had any discussions since Jan 07 - so I thought I would break the drought)

Thanks

marci - HCV will start mid 2007, HIV much sooner.

Should be a good year for BIT.

With expected trials for BIT225 HIV/HCV comming up mid 2007 things should start to get interesting

The current treatment for HCV ... Peglayted Interferon 2a/Ribavirin will be used in conjunction with BIT225 ... and ... without.

If this treatment can be effective without Interferon/ribavirin ... this is huge

The current treatment (interferon/ribavirin) is toxic with extended periods of side effects in some patients ... there are documented cases of suicide and prolonged psychosis. Hopefully BIT225 will at least be tolerated by the majority of patients.

The average cost on the PBS for Pegasys Interferon/Ribavirin treatment per patient is around $40,000 ... not cheap

Theres big dollars to be made here ... let alone how the HIV trials will go

...and plenty of interest in both the HIV and HepC space at the moment.

Big pharma hungry for innovative treatments for both conditions, so BIT very well placed for early licencing opportunities assuming successful Ph1/2a trials.

Formal preclinical saftety studies are very very close to completion with phase 1/11a due to commence in early 2007. The manufacturing of the drug is already complete and there is also a possibility of fastracking to human trials.

Therefore the completion of BIT225 preclinical and formulation work should be completed and announced bfore the end of the month.

Strong liklihood that the HCV program will provide in vivo efficacy data in animal models within weeks.

Odd trading in recent days. blink.gif

Spec...the time is very near to begin accumulating BIT again as guided by the Annual report. There are always a couple of false starts with her but she may be worth quite a little bit more in Dec/Jan. There are never any footprints. wink.gif
