Alpha HPA is seeking to raise $45 million at 62ยข a share ... an 11.3 per cent discount to the last close.

Funds are to pay for construction of a precursor production facility in the Gladstone State Development Area, to place orders for the full-scale commercial HPA facility and working capital.

The raising came as Alpha HPA said it would progress plans to build the Gladstone site, and wanted to become a premium manufacturer of high-purity aluminium products to sell to lithium-ion battery makers.

Alpha HPA Limited (A4N) listed on the ASX in late 2018, backing into a defunct Collerina Cobalt Limited (CLL).

It is involved in advancing the commercialisation of its proprietary solvent extraction and refining technology to produce High Purity Alumina (HPA) and boehmite for sale into the lithium ion battery and LED battery markets. Current activities are involved in project permitting, financing and market outreach. Pilot plant up and running, DFS was completed in March '20, offtake agreement MoU signed, with the first Li ion battery precursor sales achieved late 2020.
