Very well done India. Only saw a few overs today. Can only assume we went hard after wickets all innings and never shut up shop. Bit tough on the bowlers who were getting very little from this docile Gabba pitch. It seems to have gone the way of most international pitches ...... docile bowler breakers. Thought we could have pitched the ball up a lot more, especially when short stuff was ignored or bashed for 4.
Payne had a pretty ordinary match as captain and as a keeper. Stark will be lucky to make the South Africa tour. Lyons will also need to improve his consistency.

A few places up for grabs I reckon ....... maybe selectors, coach and captain also should be looked at closely. Something is not working ...... and I've always had a question mark over Langer and his methods.

Fancy India rebounding to win the series after the disastrous second innings in Adelaide ...... amazing stuff.

Cheers

Well, what a test match!!
Amazing finish, well deserved test win, series win, and Gavaskar -Border trophy win.
Aus cricket is looking pretty sick at the moment.
No excuses can hide the fact that apart from the first test, OZ have been outplayed by the India second 11.
Congrats to India, the entire nation will be rocking tonite!.
Wonder if Kohli will get a game in this side??

Well, the way they are going this morning looks like they are going for quick runs. Three down now, lambshanks hit 25 off 22 and then nicked off to slip.
Warner and Lambshanks going down swinging.
oops, now as i type its 4 down!
Wade out third ball, another caught down the leg side.
Lead only 152, might be Wades last innings for Australia.
Time to try and teach ANOTHER OZ player how to play test cricket.
Indians looking more and more like winning this game and the series, which they probably deserve given whats gone against them.

Well, we made it through to stumps with no loss. This second innings will be a real test for our batsmen ..........unless they are instructed to go for quick runs ....... in which doomed case India will win the test.

I'm pretty excited by Cameron Green. He looks as if he belongs, is not overawed, and thinks about his game. Could end up as a great gully fieldsman as well as a very good all-rounder.
Apart from Smith and Labuschagne and Green, maybe Warner still, I'm not convinced by our other batsmen.

Is Stark on the way out ? Seems heresy to even think about it, but on todays lifeless pitches which seem to be everywhere ( except NZ maybe?) , his style doesn't seem to work. Of course if the catches he produced were held his figures would look much better.

The Indian team is at home on this lifeless pitch, so things look a bit grim.

Cheers

Problem is, who do you replace him with?
No obvious choice.
As great a batsmen as he is, I don't think Smith was ever a great captain, he was just too wrapped up in his own game, certainly not in the mould of Tubby Taylor or Steve Waugh.
There is no one else demanding the role (at least not among current players).
test players perhaps need to be given time in the shield ranks in positions of responsibility as part of a breeding ground.
But test players hardly ever play shield cricket these days.

I have always thought of Paine as a stand in captain.
People said he is the captain we had to have after Smith but I think now he is past his use by date.
We should have won the last test, but for mediocre captaincy and poor use of our bowlers.

Chasing wickets, best fast bowlers on, and no third slip ..............
How to make your bowlers happy ..... not !!
Hazelwood getting some reward for top notch bowling.

What an embarrassment.
4 out of 5 wickets to poorly judged attacking shots on the on side.
Oz batspersons have lost the art of patience in test cricket.
Mohammad Siraj in his third test.
Natarajan in his first, Washington Sundar in his first.
Shardul Thakur in his second test.
Navdeep saini has injured his groin in his 8th over of his second test, so they are a bowler down.
India already have whole teams worth of Injured players.
And Oz limps along to 5 for 218.
Imagine what might have happened had the Indian team been able to pick the missing players.

And play straight he did - straight into the hands of the man standing at square leg.
