Hi Carsha,

Anything below $7 does start to look attractive - at $7, even if we assume that the final dividend is no more than the interim (where it has usually been larger), then the grossed-up dividend yield is 10.6%, while the grossed-up yield on the issue shares, at $6.05 less the 26c dividend payable almost immediately, is only a shade under 14%.

As you rightly say, there could be some buying opportunities emerging from this.

The issue price is at a good discount to the last traded price.
Im thinking there could be a buying opportunity as the share price should trade somewhat lower.
Ben recently had a spp at $8.45 but has recently traded down to around $7.40
Im not saying BOQ will do the same although a lower price I would think is on the way.
Trading BOQ from the $7 mark has been a good return for me lately so will be watching with interest.

I do not hold BOQ at this time.

I am not sure what it will be. I stuck my hand up in a few accounts to get something worthwhile but I suspect the scaling will be severe. It may close early but tomorrow was the cutoff.

Wolverine, what do you think the entitlement ratio is likely to be? A quick back-of-the-envelope calculation suggests that, if the split between Institutional and Retail is in line with the Entitlement Offer value figures, then there are about 127m Retail shares, and the issue will provide about 27m shares for that sector. So I suspect we are looking at a one-for-five Entitlement, with the possibility of something extra if some people do not take up their allocation. Worth noting that the bank is adopting a belt-and-braces approach, by having the whole shooting match fully underwritten.
