Doray Minerals Limited (“Doray†or “the Companyâ€ÂÂÂ) (ASX: DRM) advises that at about 12.10am this morning there was a fire involving an underground loader at the Company’s Deflector Gold Copper Mine, approximately 50km south of Yalgoo. While the extent of the fire is still being investigated, the Company can confirm that all underground workers are safe, uninjured and have returned to the above-ground Deflector site office. Throughout the incident, the Company’s priority was ensuring the safety and well-being of all underground workers. In line with the Company’s standard safety procedure, at the time of the fire 11 underground workers moved to their closest emergency refuge chamber before being escorted out of the mine by the site emergence response team. Underground operations at Deflector have been temporarily halted. Workers flee fire at Deflector Gold Mine in Yalgoo Staff reportersThe West Australian Wednesday, 8 August 2018 3:12PM QUOTE A fire is understood to have started at a mine site in the Mid West today. The fire started in a pit at the Deflector Gold Mine in Yalgoo. Details are unclear although it is believed workers sought refuge in an underground safety chamber. A bit of speculation this morning The Australian - extract below -
QUOTE Fresh from striking a deal to buy Evolution Mining’s Edna May mine in Western Australia, Ramelius Resources is now thought to have its eye on numerous other targets, including New Gold’s Peak mine in NSW. A takeover could even be on its agenda: Doray Minerals is possibly in its sights. Advisory firm Deloitte is working with Doray Minerals, fuelling speculation the listed miner has suitors.
