The chart for AZY for the last 3 months looks great.

AZY has jv with 3 majors, NCM, RIO and IGO. AZY also has plenty of 100% owned tenements.

It should release plenty of drill results in the next 3 months.

The Citadel Joint Venture Project with Rio Tinto commenced its 2020 exploration campaign during late May 2020. This 1,316 sq km project area is subject to a $60 million Farm In and Joint Venture Agreement with Rio Tinto, which currently holds a 51% joint venture interest. The exploration program is being operated and fully funded by Rio Tinto and will encompass the following principal activities:

... An approx. 13,000m (5,000m diamond plus 8,000m reverse circulation) resource drilling program to test potential extensions and further define and improve orebody knowledge at the Calibre deposit, located 45km from Rio Tintos Winu copper-gold project.
... Continuation of the Gradient Array Induced Polarisation (GAIP) Survey program across structural corridors prospective for gold and/or copper mineralisation on the Citadel Joint Venture Project tenements prioritising areas that have had limited (or no) testing of the basement by drilling;... Processing and interpretation of the data from the airborne gravity gradiometer survey completed during late 2019 (AGG Survey); and
... An ongoing review of the Calibre drilling results and broader Magnum Dome modelling to identify further priority target areas, especially for higher-grade mineralisation

"The Winu maiden resource assessment is a significant milestone, and from AZYs perspective this is excellent news. Having first entered the Paterson during 2011 when it was a much less sought-after exploration address, AZY used its early-mover advantage to build a strong tenement holding of ~5,200 sq km. The Winu project lies just to the west of AZYs Citadel joint venture project with Rio Tinto.".https://www.sharecafe.com.au/2020/07/31/rio-tintos-winu-assessment-a-boost-for-antipa/

The next year will see a lot of drilling action for AZY in some very prospective areas. While it hasn't hit the big one yet it has both RIO and NCM interested enough to fund the programs.

AZY released an interesting presentation this morning, highlights include (and I have pinched these from others).

  • Drilling scheduled to start soon at Minyari/WACA and on Calibre deposit
  • Four good new green-fields discoveries with the ability to make high grade over metres width. The drill out to the NW and SE of Serrano could produce some nice surprises, and Grey is an Ag, Cu, Pb, Au polymetallic discovery.
  • high grade shoots on the long section at Minyarie: 8m @ 21g/t; 13m @ 22g/t; 4m @ 10.4 g/t Au.

Barry Fitzgerald had this to report from this weeks RIO AGM. AZY mentioned 2nd last para

Rio opens up on Winu

Play to your home audience if you want to win them over. Rio Tinto chief executive J-S Jacques did not exactly do that in his prepared speech at Thursday’s annual meeting in Perth, not when it came to the group’s Winu copper discovery anyway.

Confirmed by Rio earlier this year as a big and growing find after the industry was left to follow progress at the remote Paterson Range site by satellite and the bush telegraph for a year, Winu got one line in his speech.

“Winu, our discovery of copper in this State, also looks promising,” J-S said.

Fortunately his chairman Simon Thompson – a geologist to boot – got to open up on the subject in response to a question from the floor on if it was a “find” or not, and would it feature in next year’s annual report.

“The whole board met the Winu project team yesterday afternoon which was great. And they are in very good spirits, as you would imagine.”

(Perhaps that had something to do with an acknowledgment that in the early days of the discovery, the Winu team covered the cost of pegging additional ground with their pooled personal credit cards because the London office was proving too slow).

“It is early days, we should stress that,” Thompson added.

“But this is a very exciting project for us. Copper is one of the areas where we want to grow and Australia is a country where we are very happy to grow and this is an exciting find. But at this stage we shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves.

“There is an awful lot of work that we need to do on drilling out the deposit and finding precisely what the scale and grade of the resources will be and that is a process that we are targeting achieving during the course of this year.

“But we should have the sense of whether this is a Rio Tinto-sized deposit in the earlier part of next year.’

“We think we have a mine. The question is do we have a mine which is large enough for Rio Tinto. So it’s very exciting, but early days.”

All that is music to the ears of the juniors that have long made the Paterson their focus and which are now getting stuck into their 2019 field programs – Antipa (AZY, 1.9c) and Sipa (SRI, 0.8c), or the Indian Pale Ales (IPAs) of the region as they are affectionately known.
