Hi triage

I had thought it had been oversold, bought a few, just got out again when I found something else . DOM had risen a bit and I was satisfied, as well as not too confident in further gains. I agree that it's a bit of a puzzle because I couldn't see any great future for DOM. Certainly hasn't been very encouraging news for a while.

Just one more example of " timing" !! wacko.gif

Cheers
J

Just out of interest: why did you sell? I hold KCN and I am struggling to uderstand why they decided to buy? DOM to me looks like a one mine outfit with few other prospects. Is that fair or am I displaying my abundant ignorance?

TIA

It seems we are about to hear that DOM & KCN are going to merge.

Reasons for DOM's weakness. Ex the WA paper commenting on Q2 report.

Weak Q production
Opderating costs $745 when last forecasted for higher production at less than $500 per ounce
Reserve estimate could be 400,000 ounces--36% lower than previously thought.
Net profit forecasts for 2011/12 cut by 10 and 16%
Which reduces the net value by 23%

In other words, Fundamentally--- things dont look too flash.

Mungo is right about higher expenses digging deeper...
But there must be more to it than that. Just not sure what....
Will have a look at that Q2 report Flower.

Do you or have you Traded DOM ?. Have you ever considered what has been made by trading it Both Short or Long ?.

It actually is quite easy to trade in either direction.

As far as the Fundamental stuff is concerned. WHO NEEDS to spent countless Hours reading & Listening to the stuff ?.

Quick Chart trying to highlight to "those" interested just what a Chart can tell Traders. NO need to read if it is in trouble.
For that matter who cares If it is trouble.

Yes there are better gold stocks to trade, BUT only if people prefer to only "TRADE" to the long side & totaly restrict their ability to actually make Money regardless of market conditions.
