they need to wait six months from when the first one lapsed.
would $5.20 get it done?? haven't really looked at it. i don't hold any atm but i can have a bit of a read and see what i can find. what do you reckon they would need to pay?? -------------------- TOO MANY CHIEFS

bid lapsed and CC ended up short by nearly 20%.

hi suti, they might need the cash from the div to fund a portion of the bid is one reason.

CC won't pay any divs - they'd be throwing away money if they do so (why throw money away when you can keep the money on the balance sheet. AFter they do get 100% down the track, they'll release the money for themselves then).
Interesting to note at the moment the 'u' bidder at 3.90 is good for 1M shares, so s/he's serious |

lol, deserved reputation increase....well even if it only gets you back to square.
it will be interesting to see if CC pays fat divs or whether they can afford to keep em skinny and just creep. i don't know if Aegis have it right but they reckon the divs will keep coming. -------------------- TOO MANY CHIEFS

i think that article sums it up 1) clevland wont get the 90% 2) share price will drop back 3) cleveland will attempt to mop up at a higher price later on. I think the 3.95 is a very attractive exit price for those who dont want to wait for the higher t/o down the track In general, all of the iron ore companies are dependent on what happens to demand from china (probably an obvious statement). If prices stay the same for 3-4 years (remembering that prices just rose 71.5%) they are still undervalued. But even if prices revert back to the 2004-2005 levels, they are all overvalued. just my two bob. btw, thanks for putting my reputation back to 0
