GRD has a lot of projects. A great reputation , and a good chance to pay a dividend this year.
I won't be voting for it. However, the directors have given it their approval and I have to wonder why?

Hi GRDers - in looking at the G Samuels I hope you all noticed that the valuation for GRD is in the range (.69 to .96) which means the current offer is well under "fair value" and is only "fair" based on the current and recent past share history (greatly impacted by the GFC).

I'll be voting AGAINST the scheme of arrangement and hope that this opportunistic offer is rebuffed by a majority of the shareholders. Interestingly the directors rebuffed an offer around $2.15 several years back as not reflecting the value of the company and now they seem willing to roll over for .55!?!??! The only difference between the offeres is that Eastern Creek has been sold at a loss.

AMEC's offer is very opportunistic and undervalue IMHO.

I can see staying in if one's holding is worth it. Say 50000 shares will be worth another 500$ if one stays in.
10000 shares is worth 100$ more by staying in.
$500 covers interest on margin loan for 60Days. this deal will be over in not less than 45 days.
So it must be worth it.
For me,,,,I have 70000 shares at 60% margin.....22680$ margined.
At 10% interest that works out to about 6$ + per day
times 45 days = ~$300 which still covered by me staying in for another 60 days.
If the price goes up.....then it is a windfall and a half.

Hi Merc
Maybe - maybe not, but even if one does come, how long will you have to wait. It's likely it will be held back near the current offer of .55 for as long as it takes. Took my prof & out.
Better opps elsewhere that are still moving up atm imo.
Cheers

AMEC in talks to buy Aust engineering group GRD

Reuters

LONDON - British oil services and engineering group AMEC plc has confirmed it is in talks to buy Australian engineering services company GRD Ltd .

GRD said it had received a cash proposal from AMEC of $0.55 ($US0.446) per share, valuing the company at about $106 million.

AMEC said GRD would complement its operations in the mining sector.

It added that the proposal remains conditional in a number of respects including completion of due diligence and negotiating and executing a binding implementation agreement.

The last move failed but it has found some reasonable supp at .20.
Back in with a starter pos. For some reason my cfd provider still only requires a 10% margin for this one blink.gif

Looking interesting again. A big move on vol on 7/1 then a retrace on low vol to end with a hammer candle yest.
Market depth is primed for another rally.
Cheers
