CEP didn’t execute their options and they have expired … what a shame!

Now all short term bets are on a Baniyas announcement - The drilling of a well was required by 13 April 2009 but STX reached variations to the permit conditions – it’s currently not disclosed in which timeframe they have to drill. The website says that the current quarter activity is to plan a well to test the prospect. I have some hopes that possibly we will surprised and the drilling comes much sooner as one think.

Bright seismic amplitudes on the crest of the structure are similar to those observed on other prospects drilled along the Flinders Fault which encountered a gas cap on an oil leg.

The Baniyas prospect lies 6 kms to the southeast and updip of the Chevron operated Saladin Oil Field and a success at Baniyas could be rapidly tied into the Chevron operated infrastructure where spare capacity exits.

Just for information again the production data of the adjacent fields (all are operated by Chevron) till 31/12/2008:

Crest 1,7 mmbbl
Saladin 96,4 mmbbl
Yammaderry 5,4 mmbbl
Cowle 3,3 mmbl
Skate 1,7 mmbbl
Roller 44,1 mmbbl

Been a while since I've posted on SS. Things seem to have changed quite a bit. Good to see familiar faces on here from other sites though, I'm JiggyJigs on certain other sites.

STX still plodding along...wouldn't it be lovely to hear an update sometime soon though. It's been a while since we heard from management and given we have a number of projects on the run I'm a little surprised we haven't heard more.

We are testing that 18c support but I wont be surprised to see us drop back and close the gap at 16c (gap up 14th April). I'll be trying to buy more as soon as cash become available...so many bargain buys around at the moment though.
