Interesting the gap between the two companies trading halt requests??

Given the buy figures for 2p csm gas that have been announced this year, $800M seems too low to be in the context of this gas market?

2P for SHG sits about 470bcf from memory.

PERTH, Aug 20 (Reuters) - Queensland Gas Company Ltd (QGC.AX: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz)(QGC), an Australian coal seam gas producer, has made a takeover offer worth about A$800 million ($696 million) to smaller rival Sunshine Gas Ltd (SHG.AX: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), a source with knowledge of the deal said on Wednesday.

"It is a cash and scrip offer," said the source, who declined to be identified because of commercial sensitivities.

QGC on Wednesday requested a halt in the trading of its shares and said an announcement was likely later in the day.

QGC also into trading halt regarding takeover this morning. Announcement to be made before days end.

Interesting that they didn't go into halt yesterday.

A good trade in PES and MPO going into the news?

sounds like it could be a positive move, given that SHG has given the employees some shares.

I'm excited (only joking) lmaosmiley.gif

Yes, this is extremely interesting. Perhaps BG are going to make a plus 40% bid for SHG. Have to be good because 60% of the shares are held by the top ten.

About time this CSG bubble got reinflated. The value is there and Asian LNG demand and pricing is going higher.

A lot of mergering coming up if you ask me.

Hi life
I haven't the foggiest about it's true worth, but consolidation in the csg sector will continue imo & this st bounce in the XEJ will help this short term trade imo.
Only looking at the immediate future. This market is still too choppy for my liking.
Cheers

Some good resis in the market depth (approx 600k) chewed through between 2.17/2.19 the last hour or so in SHG.
Someone is accumulating.
Cheers
