Just thought I'd pop into the engine room to wish the team a peaceful, safe, warm and fuzzy Easter break.

Hope next week's a little shinier,
Cris

Hi Admin

That has sorted the problem. Thanks.

Maybe it was because the language I speak is a load of rubbish!??!! blink.gif

Welcome to the team flash...

Seems like a very unusual problem. Havnt heard anyone else find the same issue, and I cant see why that issue would come up, but i am investigating it as we speak.

....5 minutes passes....

Initially I couldnt find your issue, but after going into the database i found you, mr flash, were the only member on the OLD OLD language files back from 2 months ago. I have no idea why you were set on lanugage folder 11, but ive fixed you up!

It should work no problems now.

Try

Tools
Internet Options
Temporary Internet Files
Settings
Check for newer versions of stored pages

select 'automatically'

Hope this helps,
Cris

Hi guys

I also apologise for the late response. I look forward to working with you all!

By the way, I can't get into the website via the front page www.sharescene.com. This only occured on the changeover from asxboard. I get the following error:

"Could not load required language file 'lang/11/mod_global_poll.php'"

I can get to the log-in page but once I log in I get that error. I can get in because my IExplore history seems to have logged another page after I relogged in and got that error. It is a workaround but not ideal.

I don't know if anyone knows if I need to tweak something?

Thanks in advance

Sorry for the late response,

I didn't get the message till late today.

But thanks to the team for the honour.

I'll try and do as good a job as the present members have been doing over the last few months.

I'll probably take the common sense approach as mosey said.

Good to see some familar faces among the team.

IHG was getting out of hand mminion I agree. Also noticed today a post by jism:

Where's Wally?... errr... i mean Dwecke!

Its little snide remarks like this that start the mudslinging..insults back and forth.

I gathered Dwecke had been banned when he failed to post a response, which is what would normally happen...starting an abusive thread.

If we can educate posters on forum eddicate (is that how you spell it?) we could end up with little need for moderation.

Cheers BBQ

All,

If you want a good example of what's "not on" have a look at the "IHG"

Two main issues:
~ Ramping (lots of it)
~ Personal Attacks

You'll note I stepped in and gave warnings... 3 public and the Admin gave a private PM too (you'll note the warning were to both sides)

But in the end Dwecke didn't take onboard ANY suggestions and commonsense was saying "this guy isn't going to stop and he's getting worse every post" and therefore he was banned.

We dont publically announce bans:
~ 9-10 times the guy complains about the ban on OZe/HC... "They are Nazis"
~ the otherside will crow "we won... he got banned"

Matt

Hi Admin1,

Thanks for your response. If I can paraphrase your response - Use commonsense!

Cheers, Mosaic
