"Westpac Accused of Millions of Breaches by Anti Money-Laundering Agency
20/11/2019 9:56AM
By Robb M. Stewart

MELBOURNE, Australia--Australia's financial-intelligence agency has sued Westpac Banking Corp. (WBC.AU), alleging the big Australian bank breached anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism reporting obligations on more than 23 million occasions.
The government's Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre, or Austrac, said Wednesday it was seeking civil penalty orders against Westpac in proceedings launched following a detailed investigation into the bank's compliance. Westpac said it had received a statement of claim from Austrac. It said it had previously disclosed that it self-reported a failure to disclose a large number of funds transfer instructions to the agency.
The bank said it was currently reviewing the agency's claim and would issue a further statement when it had been assessed.

"On Tuesday, 15 October 2019 RFG announced an equity capital raising and debt restructure.
The equity capital raising consists of a fully underwritten $170 million placement (Placement), to sophisticated and professional
investors, and a SPP capped at $20 million. The Company has also agreed to make a small ‘top-up’ placement to
Invesco, following the SPP, to maintain its post-Placement holding at 19.9% of the Company.
The Placement is subject to shareholder approval at a general meeting of the Company intended to be held on or around Tuesday,
19 November 2019.

The offer price of the Placement and SPP (together the Offer) is $0.10 per share.
In conjunction with the Offer the Company announced a debt restructure, under a binding term sheet, where $118.5
million of net placement proceeds will be applied to reduce existing debt, combined with a debt write-off of $71.8
million. The Company’s Lenders have also agreed to enter into a new $75.5 million term facility, maturing in
November 2022.
Net proceeds raised under the SPP and ‘top-up’ placement to Invesco will be applied to reduce debt." - ASX

Who is going to take up there SPP entitlements 300k shares for $30k sounds OK to me

The Company has presented its results at the Goldman Sachs Annual Tech Day in Sydney.
My opening remarks to the Goldman Sachs Tech Day Conference were:
"As you are no doubt aware, iSignthis – like so many companies in the FinTech space - is in the midst of a regulatory inquiry.
To date we have answered questions ranging across such diverse subjects as our EU licences, our audited revenue figures and our shareholders to Bitcoin, binaries and our old bank.
What I can tell you today is that we are actively engaging with the regulators and we are yet to see a question that gives our board or our executive team any cause for concern about our continuous disclosure, our due diligence or our business operations.
We will keep our shareholders updated as we are able, but our priority now is to answer questions from regulators and help them understand our business and what we do."
Expect that Company to respond in detail in the next 1-2 business days to further queries received from the ASX.
We are working to lift the suspension as soon as possible.
The outlook for the Company continues to be extremely positive, with growth prospects in the EU looking favourable well into the future.
Thank you for your support.
Regards
N J (John) Karantzis

Responsible lending practices have 90 day delinquencies at .08% of book, 4 to 8 times better than any of the majors and a similar story with write offs. The only item that has never been addressed by the board is the sharemarket liquidity.A major failing and one that needs to be addressed.

Confirmation of Peter George as exec chair, good or bad? - previous PMP MD/CEO.I previously held PMP over many years and took a bath of an Olympic pool size proportins long before his tenure,
not his fault but after he left PMP 12 months ago the PMP shareprice has fallen nearly 80%.
He has a 12 month contract and not a young man (no disrespect) the board still need to look for long term people with trade experience.
having said that the fast food area is the fastest growing sector of retail, have a look at your local shopping centre. They have made a monumental f/u in the past but there is upside here I believe.

The Athlete Foot's brand owner Accent Group has lifted first half profit by 19.4 per cent to $25.3 million thanks to strong growth in online sales and the rollout of more stores.

Revenue for the six months to December 25 rose 20.3 per cent to $362.5 million with the company-owned retail sales up 21 per cent to $295.1 million.

Shares in Accent soared 18.5 per cent to an 11-month high of $1.055 on Friday following its record results.

The company, which also distributes Dr. Martens and Merrell brands, said sales for company-owned businesses rose strongly, with click-and-collect sales up 170 per cent on the same period a year ago, and 22 new stores - less seven closures - also driving new revenue.

Accent's Platypus and Skechers outlets traded in line with expectations with stronger gross margins in the lead-up to Christmas.

Vans continued its strong performance, driven by growth in the classic "Old Skool' sneaker, the company added.

The group's wholesale sales were up 2.5 per cent to $55.1 million, in line with the company's expectations.

Accent Group's co-chief executive Daniel Agostinelli said the results were a record for the company, which is carefully managing its lease agreements to combat an ongoing decline in customers going to shopping centres.

"The industry-wide fall in centre traffic has been well publicised and while we continue to get sustainable rent outcomes for the vast majority of store renewal negotiations, it is our intent to continue to close stores where landlords are unwilling to agree to acceptable occupancy renewal outcomes," he said.

The group, formerly called RCG Corporation, said it now has distribution rights to 10 international brands and over 445 stores across 10 retail banners.

Accent plans to open a further 10 new stores in the second half of 2017/18, which includes expansion of its Hype DC chain to New Zealand.

Accent's record result also benefited from the inclusion of the first week of post-Christmas sales in the first half figures, whereas a year earlier the sales fell in the second half.

However like-for-like sales for the first seven weeks of the second half are up four per cent, the company said, while underlying earnings for the first seven months of the year are up 12 per cent compared to the previous corresponding period.

really is a pity they cant put the cpmplete brrom to the board of this underperformer
reading the Chairmans EGM comments from yesterday
1. independant advice states the takeover is not fair but reasonable (WTF does that mean)
2. and if we dont vote yes the shareprice will retreat once again
Liquidity has always been a shareprice handbrake and the board needed to get out and make major purchases and and increase and enhance the sharebase,
but in the absence of that capability this is where we are, damned if we do damned if we dont

Even with a soft close to the market yesterday GWA was still the biggest daily improver on the bourse.
After years in the wilderness with very bad management is it about to turn the corner and return to the cash cow it once was?

RCG shares jump on Hype sneakers deal

Shares in shoe retailer RCG Corporation have soared following announcement of its deal to acquire sneaker chain Hype DC and guidance of increased full-year earnings. Trans-Tasman RCG is buying Australian footwear retailer Hype DC Pty Ltd for about $105 million.

RCG said the acquisition will be earnings accretive in the 2016/17 financial year.

The retailer said its 2015/16 underlying earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisations (EBITDA) is likely to be $60 million - the top-end of its guidance range.

Underlying earnings in 2016/17, including the Hype DC deal, are expected to come in at $90 million.

At its half-year results in February, RCG gave guidance of underlying full-year earnings for 2015/16 of $58 million to $60 million.

yes it was half good half not so good but rest assured they are not the only ones feeling tight retail conditions.
As stated a return to divs next year and all being right thats 12 months ahead of target.
Much more nimble than larger rivals, I see Woolies is expanding into express outlets, I think they should stick to core business, seems they havent learnt their lesson.

if the point of todays strategic presentation was to drive the share price down so investors could take advantage of cheaper prices than they sure were successful...10% south.
lost me early when they stated it was effectively a new business - pretty sure 20 years ago when they floated they were a bathroom products business???????

Liquidity is OK can generally buy or sell domestic size parcels any day (1000 to 5000 parcels)

$30m on market share buyback...generally I like the idea, but it seems that after making bad acquisition after bad acquisition and costing shareholders an absolute bucket load of folding that this strategy is the best they can do...probably right too

The carrying value of Gliderol is said to be $29million after the $17m impairment earlier...this has got to hurt...again.
This business was purchased by the board without external advisors as is often the case. When do they become accountable for the loss of income and capital to the owners of the business.

Well they never fail to amaze. Announced today the expected capital return but bloody accountants have deided to reduce our shareholdings by the equivalent vale...100 shares becomes 91 shares. The end result is we get no immediate benefit from the sale of assets and the books may appear intact.
I have had capital returns before without fear of losing my holdings...if they wanted to use the money to finance a buyback why didnt they just do that and let those that want to participate.
NO WAY...too scared large shareholders under control might fuck off their holdings

I did sell part of our holdings around $3 a year or so ago, but kept a toe (now rotted to the stump) in the water.
We have a family holding as well, and am desperate for the capital return, the best they can do this dreary lot.
I would never suggest this stock as a buy under current leadership but if it gets cheap enuff it might be worth a look for the capital return, rumoured to be around $95m (30cps ff)

Todays report to the market that they lost 40cps this year following up a 16cps tare up last year.
Most of their business must owe FA now, a good place to start..except their not starting , their trashing.
I have long term personal dealings with one of their franchises and its not a happy one these days, I fear the only way is down and out with current management practices

The GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH may be Ringling Bros, but the biggest circus is still right here.
MORE impairment charges
MORE restructuring costs
MORE one off significant items

and for there final act, how about a bit
MORE DIVESTEMT

how much will they lose on the sale of BRIVIS and DUX

and a possible capital return to shareholders because these clowns just dont know how to grow a company

Perhaps diferent tour dates but its the same show.

FOR FUCK SAKE GET SOME NEW ACTS

Exitting Indo is a positive going forward, but i read a large wriite off of plant that should render any profit negligible, on paper.
Looks like its all next year, perhaps.
If your buying mid/long term it sure appears cheap, I will sit on the sidelines at the moment and not ad to my holdings.

No real surprises there, as you would expect - growth in building, its a no brainer that this share will go well.
Thats the obvious sentiment in the marketplace because i have been more than surprised by the shareprice afforded to it of late.
The management diced the divvies for a few pays (read half) and then stopped paying altogethr - first time in its 20 year inclusion to the ASX.

I am all for it, but when does recent management become accountable.
lost money on sale of SEBEL, Visabaheer or whatever that strange dutch dunny company was and its recent foray into rollerdoors was a complete fuck up, considering B&D roller doors were on the block at the same time. purchased by DULUX, earnings positive etc etc.

Stop rooting around and get serious guys.or get someone with a little entrepreneurial flare amd get rid of all the accountants on the board.

Part of todays announcement was a reduction in dividend payouts to help fund project diamnond or whatever.
Oversold no doubt,
still expected to pay 7% plus franking at these prices

They have advised the successful raising of US$335m by way of secured notes maturing 2019 plus $50m in revolving credit to finanace day to day business if I read that right.

I see overnight 2 directors awarded themselves PERFORMANCE RIGHTS
well thats a contradiction in terms
The MD gets 200000 of these even though he slashed dividends until this half we got NONE.
Some more restructuring should fix it..i think not
Restructure the board that might work
Get some entrepreneurs in there and get rid of the accountants
This board is soooooooo tired it will never perform in its curren t state
I for the life of me cannot explain the share price support.
last time i looked 2 brokers had it as buy and 2 as sell, that must be it

The competition watchdog has taken Federal Court action against supermarket giants Coles and Woolworths for allegedly breaking promises over fuel shopper dockets schemes.

Read more: http://www.smh.com.au/business/consumer-wa...l#ixzz2uTiYcgMM

Foolish behaviour from the big 2, hope the toothless ACCC has some luck with this one.
I dont really see the big 2 gaining much traction offering fuel discounts against items purchased at the servo, we all know everything is twice the price there, so its only a sucker offer.

buy looks OK so far....we will see when they report down the track

No not at all, no one here for over 3 years.
Well i can say i dodged a bullet on this one.
I have been running the ruler over it in recent weeks in light of a soft price and the impending takeover by Bradken ( I am a shareholder there)
Been waiting on ANG reporting, Thank my lucky stars, EBITDA down 95%,
Today Bradken has stated ANG who? and withdrawn their interest
so far sp down near 25% and the report is not inspiring....

Hi, I have been watching it suffer of late and today was a 52 week low, after a few pretty horrific asx sessions.
It may well go cheaper and I would consider adding to my holdings at that time.
I read the last Annual Report and managemet did blame the petrol discounting by the majors as a problem.
As your previous post states thats capped at 4 cpl now, not the outrageous 20 and 30 cpl that was on offer from time to time.
It is in a transition stage so i will see how it goes

Years ago there used to be a joke.
How do you get a little Datsun dealership?
Buy a big one and let time do the rest....

Well that joke has come back to bite us.
These morons have taken a cash cow and prowdly and completely managed to screw it up.
The word has been out and smart money has been shifting.
A little over a month ago the incompetents stated Gliderol was on the up.
Too many accountants running this one, any entrepreneurs please apply

dont know any more than you but I reiterate my post of 21/8
"NAB reported strong mortgage growth today and GWA FY report also released today stated a bounce in sales and projected upside in 13/14"
Construction cycle is on the up, even Stockland reported upside in new housing development
They dont call them BROKERS for nothing.

"One factor going against Emeco, which was floated by private equity firms Pacific Equity Partners and Archer Capital for $1 billion in 2006, is the high share turnover. The lack of a cornerstone, long-term investor has undoubtedly hurt the share price, with a share register turnover of around 200 per cent per annum."

Its not many stocks I own or even see that suffer this fate, its usually a lack of liquidity thats hurts em.

Anway your post backs up the fantastic value buy here.

shareprice up 200% in the last month and now cum dividend.
long way to go here, listing price was $1.63 and new add on last 12 months added around 30% to revenues.

Dunno if its all the same prob???
If this completes this affair than it should be a positive going forward.

Hello Alonso, been watchin this one for a few days and got set at closing tonite.
So my toes are wet and looking to top up on opportunity.
Resources might be taking a breather but I am confident in its medium long term future.
Was in Mackay recently and took a tour of Paget, saw the Emeco property and Bradken of which i also hold shares.
If the size of mining and associated companies in Mackay is anything to go by including Hastings Deering and large local engineering firms PLUS the $41 million nearly cpmpleted TAFE Trade Training Centre for 1500 apprentices is anything to go by I cant see any downturn being permanent.

Another rise of 12% so far today on the back of 13% yesterday.
good volume of trade for this stock today, traders taking profits I would suspect
Finally getting somewhere near its true value

Number 1 Shareholder Challenger sells to Maquarie Bank....and there must be a few followers up 13% today
Top 20 shareholders hold 92%.
If only we could get some liquidity this stock would realise its potential

Cant explain that, I think that might be a typo, actual profit was down 21%
Much as expected should not be a surprise as was flagged last half.
Long way from 11cps a few years ago.
Shareprice has rebounded since the sackings, the only way is up...isnt it?

Hello RKCH
I agree both XD and XMD have hurt shareprice.
Only other area of concern appears to be Sunbeam, once king of the kitchen perhaps losing marketshare to now popular Kitchen Aid.
They are aware of this.
Other than that it has been a good cash cow for many years.
IMO $7 or less is fair buying atm. household products GWA reported today, earnings down 23%

Well it sure saves a bunch of cash and I suppose there will be a few overpaid shiny arses in there as well.
Some of the board should join em i think, they are very slow to move.
I was tooo terrified last time I posted to buy more, I bought BKN instead, in hindsight GWA SP has made a fast recovery, lets see how the divvies pan out. Everytime I have seen them sell something or restructure it ends up costing plenty.

ORD MiNETT have released this -
Australia's leading supplier of fixtures and fittings to residential and commercial premises has done it tough lately, delivering a disappointing performance update. Management blames weakness in renovations and new building activity. Despite this, I believe financial year 2013 represents trough earnings and they will recover in line with improving housing activity.

THe shareprice hasnt been this low since Adam went to broker school and ORD are still not confident to give it a buy rating, HOLD.

If it gets much cheaper I just might get some more myself??????
