Tks Flower. I lost a small fortune selling out at 45c having bought at 18c a few years back....so it is with some trepidation i go back in at this price, but having done some homework i feel i am better armed (information wise) than the speculative play i made and missed out on a few years back. Still suffering from NWE's disappointments tho' and need to replace lost monies there!

I see a lot of the usual suspects on this thread! Finally wised up this year and started buying banks....the big 4, left cba out as felt fully priced but got nab last year and anz and decided on charlie Aitken's tip to buy wbc a few weeks back.

Ozgas,
Annaliese has put it succinctly. also a long term holder i believe. I have not traded in and out, not my bag, tho have with NWE!!! Knew there was long term value but was whipped by the market and a change of management has brought a turnaround. Annaliese does a lot more research so offers valuable historic and current prospects

I am not a trader and have been here since the KB and +30c days (and pre) when our royalty of the disaster well in the NW was driving the price. Boy, did Sinopec get burnt! Merc, i am very much underwater, average price circa +40c but at this stage will salvage what little I can. I guess have to vote yes, but us poor mug punters dont seem to have much choice in this one. We are over a barrell and its become a play-thing for some bigger players. 'Promised ' so much but I think we were 'had'!
My take on it anyway

Fair comment though what about companies like OGC? a pure gold co. until the discovery of their Didipio find. The copper adds an exrta hedge and not to be sneezed at. I dont quite see how it complicates things to have a supplementary/compementary ore body of a valuable resourse.

Thanks, Arty, for your posts on this and other stocks I own. I am still trying to get my head around charting as I'm basically a 'fundamentals' guy, but recognise the role (important for trading) charting plays. Thanks for taking the time to be instructive and ignore the background noise. We are all adults here (?) and can make our own decisions and hopefully do the necessary due diligence.

This management have dumbed down QF. I feel a conspiracy to JetStar it. why bring in a leprachaun whose only experience was cut price airlines and get rid of a 25 year + Qf manger. They have driven passengers away with their deteriorating product and then proclaim a bleeding international division. I think it was by design! A sorry tale for an aussie icon that was so strong and proud. No longer.. but management take their large salary and do not cut their numbers whilst they expect every othe rarea of the company to wilt under these 'tough times'. Bloody hypocrits they are. Not dissinilar to MacQuarie in their greed.

Mull. Kind of right! I can look at a large loss of my investment or I can $ average down! We all know about throwing good money after bad (and I am guilty of that with NDO). However on a balance of probabilities I am prepared to throw a bit more cash at this because of the underlying business and the people now at the helm. I am looking at a medium to long term(5yrs)investment and I feel the opportunity cost of buying at 5c is worth it. I can see upside and a dilution of my losses. Also think I might flick this into my super and can afford the wait! You are right that we need people to participate in the SPP to make this work but I don't feel I have a gun to my head. Everyone will make their own decision based on the facts and as I said earlier I feel this is worth the punt. I have been around long enough and been take enough times to know the risks but I genuinely feel this has a chance.
Hope that answers your question.

Once got an offer from a broker as a SI but as I use Comsec now don't get any of those anymore. It can be easy money if you have some spare $ hanging around, but there is always some risk involved too. Have my fill of these now so will just sit back and watch and wait. Good entry point with gold rising on the back of Middle East ructions.

Have to agree with you there. The raising at this price is far less dilutionary than at say 25c after a 'problem' as enumerated by CC. Whilst not happy, at least the debt reduction is prudent and obviously improves cash flow and reserves by reducing interest expenses. Now he has NO excuses...increase production, find more gold!! I want Mars' 5mil oz!

$4+ price. Bought at $3.50 watched it fall, topped up at $2.95..watched it fall....been here before. Bought pre GFC @3.75 and rode the drop to 30c and back again. However things are very different now with increasing reserves, hedging gone and Didipio finally on its way. This is a stayer and a good trader for those of you of that ilk!

Sorry, Just wanted to make it clear that the bet on the shares rising, which we are doing, can be underwritten by buying now! I am buying now and not worrying about the options as I will have locked in future profits if and when we hit those milestones.
What amazes me is the confidence (by such high exercise prices) that the Co. has in the near future price rises. September is only 8 months away!

Bermuda, you got it all wrong mate!
In case B you have spent $40999 for 266,666. If you spent $40,999 today you would have 683,316 shares so your profit has to be much greater buying the shares now. what you are doing buying the shares at 10c and 20c is losing the opportunity cost of buying at 6c now. If you believe the shares will go above 20c why wouldn't you buy now at 6c not wait until they got to 10 and then wait again and pay 20c thats 4 and 14 cent more than they are now.

Yes, noted the formation water was from zone 4 so hopefully the other 3 dont suffer that problem. After all, the point of the sidetrack ( and expenditure) was to eliminate that and hope for a good oil flow with minimal water cut. They would not have spent the extra considerable $ (one hopes!) without a belief that this could be achieved!
