This guy reckons a US - China deal on the stroke of midnight before tariffs kick in on Dec. 15. If he is right, and the markets are always ahead of the game, we may see the slibbery slobbery sloth Pfizer move tomorrow ahead of the fact.

The data must be good because the price of BLUE is up over 11%! BNTC down nearly 5%. Go figure.

Remember the salesman putting his puff video out of the Big Balmain Campus where he is sitting at his desk, white board behind with all the names scribbled on it of the companies that are all lining up to get a piece of the BLT action? BLUE was one of them.

This company has been nothing but a sham from start to finish. Time to put the dog down.

After reading this really great investigative report I have concluded Key has now entered that realm of self delusion where the aura of self invincibility and being untouchable has touched him so to the point he believes he can polish every terd he touches and nobody will know its a polished terd.

Herein lies the test for the NZX. Do they have the backbone to say no or are they going to shovel another Feltex onto the unsuspecting public?

I see Mr. Key has recently become a director or maybe it was Chairman of the education consultantcy Crimson. This was founded by some wunderkind fresh out of high school who teamed up with Key's boy. Businessman extraordinaire and White House resident, Mr. Liddell, was once involved in this business and their plans include a shake up in the education sector on several fronts.
They started with a baptism of fire in the Court room. Have recently been investigated by a US newspaper which found their claims to be without foundation or credible. And today, the NZ Herald is reporting they are again in the Courts trying to suppress information relevant to their business becoming public.
It matters not whether they win or not because the damage is done. Any right thinking individual knows that when their is this much smoke around the place there is probably a fire to be found if one can be bothered to go looking.

If Crimson is looking for a NZX listing and the NZX allows it to, then that tells anyone all you need to know about the NZX being a little boys club because under normal scrutiny this wouldn't pass the smell test for a public company.

Perhaps Key is training Junior up in a pet project and he has had to step in to lend a hand with his networks and influence. Maybe he's trying to make a new generation rat pack by having all the Kiwisaver funds tip their spare cash into it so they can live up large. Who knows exactly? All I know is that when they have to call in someone's Dad to help rescue the situation then its not a good situation and certainly not worthy of an investment dollar of mine.

Key will do better to get out, save face with a wider audience and let the Children of the New Forest learn from failure. Let them, try, try and try again.

BEIJING (Reuters) - China said on Monday that it hoped to make a trade deal with the United States as soon as possible, amid intense discussions before fresh U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports are due to kick in at the end of the week.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------With less than a week to go before the deadline amid “intense” negotiations, Kudlow said Trump would make the final decision on the tariffs, which would hit Chinese-made cellphones, laptop computers, toys and clothing.

“We’ll have to see, but right now we’re moving along,” Trump said last week. “On December 15th, something could happen, but we are not discussing that yet. We are having very good discussions with China, however.”

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trad...e-idUSKBN1YD0GP

Tariffs come on Dec. 15. Ten days before Xmas. Need ALNY and PFE to give us that Super Nova boom.
Personally, I don't think there will be a deal. Its all about MAGA. That's how ALNY and PFE will be couched on the back of no deal. Although tariffs may be reduced or recinded. Everything will pop on patriotic steroids afterwards I expect.

Sanofi and Merck both buy out biotechs overnight. Pfizer still AWOL. US - China trade talks in the twilight zone. Looks like it will be last minute stuff. Before Xmas maybe, perhaps New Years eve (seen that before) to be last deal of the year or early next year to be first deal of next. Whatever it is, we are just weeks away after all these years. I hope people aren't disappointed but early entry long term holders haven't got much to be excited about because they have been diluted out of everything.

CEO quits all of a sudden. Company brings back the old hand as interim CEO to commence immediately. Which means, the current CEO's agreement to step down as CEO is effective immediately.
Why then does she say she will, "work closely with the board and new CEO as required to ensure a smooth transition"? She must still be on contract but relieved of CEO duties hence the agreement.
But as the quote above states, its the stakeholders who are calling the shots. Since when do stakeholders, who are not shareholders, get to have the final say on hire and fire decisions? Was she working for shareholders before stakeholders? Or was she just there for a quick money grab? Ten million bucks for eighteen months isn't a bad gig. Which leaves the final query hanging; who is in the Board's ear?

Before the FDA put the kaibosh on ARWR's pipeline, there were a bunch of vultures who took part in a cap. raise in them. The price proved to be the high tide mark until the FDA put the boot which resulted in the low tide mark. These vultures were the same vultures that too part in Blt's cap. raise when French was at the helm.

Now we have Goldman Sachs buying in at another but yet to be proven high tide mark. Does that mean their buy in price is a rehash of the same market price manipulation trick (i.e. make the money on the short side) that the other vultures used? And does it also mean we now have frenemies breaking bread together?
Which in the short term means, bad news for ARWR and good news for ALNY. After all, Goldmans just happens to be ALNY's banker as well as that of America Inc.

There have been several occasions when deals have been settled and agreed a long time before Xmas, by the legal teams, the principles, their wives, mistresses and dogs are all in agreement. Its expected by everyone it will happen by Xmas. Then some jerk gets on a power trip and wants everyone to eat cake first. Biggest transaction I ever saw take place was a bit over $100bn. If CSL is involved we could well exceed that.

Imagine if CSL were to buy out PFE and simultaneously take a cornerstone in all the biotechs going spare at the moment. I guess that's what happens when you put Chicken Little up as a CEO, have gross incompetence in the C-Suite, unbridled greed and an adherence to gangster capitalism instead of trying to advance the health of mankind.

However it is structured with whichever players it's going to be big. And soon.

Having been watching the riotous run ARWR has been on lately. Locarnini is one of their top, if not the top scientist they have. With BIT missing out on the run in unison with ARWR and their big spike twelve months or so ago, it makes me wonder if BIT did actually have something it may well have been spirited out the back door by now for the charlatans and villains to make their mark up on it with ARWR.

Here we have it. The Rubicon. The point where going back as an option has gone.
There will be no trade deal.
https://www.zerohedge.com/economics/gloves-...se-1-trade-deal

QUOTE
Until now, China had largely kept the key hurdles in the ongoing US-China trade talks close to the vest, fearful that "breaking the embargo" so to speak on what have been confidential talks so far, could anger the US side. Now in a surprise diplomatic reversal, one which has the intent of signaling to the world that China will no longer play by Washington's unspoken if assumed rules, overnight China's nationalistic Global Times tabloid reported that Beijing now "insists" that existing tariffs must be removed as part of a "Phase 1" trade deal, well beyond the US "ask" of merely scrapping those tariffs which are set to kick in on December 15.

"Sources with direct knowledge of the trade talks told the Global Times on Saturday that the U.S. must remove existing tariffs, not planned tariffs, as part of the deal," said the report.

Global Times, which is published by the official People’s Daily newspaper of China’s ruling Communist Party, also cited another unidentified source close to the talks as saying U.S. officials had been resisting such a demand because the tariffs were their only weapon in the trade war and giving up that weapon meant “surrender.”

Which is precisely what we said last night, when we noted that by going public with its demands, it would make Trump look even weaker, as the US president can no longer spin the outcome of negotiations as one where he proposed the removal of existing tariffs, but rather such an act would be seen as caving to China.

This statement released today must mean they have found an active payload in animals which they couldn't have used in the Genentech trials which were inefficacious in humans.
Today's news doesn't seem like new news to me somehow. Meaning, I have heard this before. So it is probably a re-run of something else which ended in failure. Possibly the Genentech trial. So, unless you are one of the suffering animals who needs that increased toxicity, it really isn't much of a big deal because that cross over from animals to humans really is a big deal.

Its impossible to comprehend the growth in ARWR recently. Soon it will equal ALNY in market cap. As it is it is now over half. I don't know what is behind it but the absence of Pfizer suggests to me there is heightened anticipation around a buyout because of it. Remember Pharmasset? It is difficult to watch this growth while knowing that BLT's once upon a time top scientist, Rossi, was on their SAB as well. Even took a "stuffer fragment" from the BLT IP suite and utilized it at ARWR. The wealth effect for shareholders is sickening to watch as a BLT shareholder. Makes me wonder if BLT was there just to have its eyes picked out of the corpse.

Now, all BLT holders have to look forward to is to be schemed upon by management unless something comes out of nowhere and presents itself as a better offer for shareholders. At which time Directors will have no other option but to recommend it without being derelict in their duties. A buyout at five cents would be better at this stage. But what would be better again would be to back in Make Me a Motza Archa! Why isn't that director recommending this? Is it a conflict of interest? Perhaps she is just a Patsy the Wallflower kind of director, there for gender equality statistic purposes.

After re-reading todays announcement I see it is a proposed scheme. Schemes are the modern day equivalent of a takeover. Just recently there has been a proposed scheme for a buy out NZ Oil and Gas and it failed because minority shareholders voted against it. This despite director approval and recommendations and an independent advisor recommending it.

This scheme requires shareholder approval and depending on the percentages required there is no guarantee this will go ahead.
If you think about it, why would you have to set up a new unlisted company to buy the existing shares of a company already listed on the NASDAQ with the majority of its operations already in the US?

I know that if I wish to relocate my company I go to the Companies Office and notify them. Its a legal compliance thing. Not a share buy out thing.

Looks like BLT shareholders are getting the wool pulled over their eyes again and someone else wants to make out like a bandit. It reminds me of that period of time in the nineties when Michael Milken's junk bonds were used to make similar buyouts for raids on company coffers. This time its a Scheme. And ain't that a fact. A scheme by dastardly schemers.

Time for someone to recommend Make Me a Motza Archa. Make me two at 2.5c.

It's back to the future. Re-Americanize the Australian company which got re-Australianified after the first attempt to Americanize failed when Kay & Hot Pants tried to steal it for nothing. Now, after being picked clean all and sundry in Australia they're gonna have another go in America.
It's like everybody except a long term shareholder has made out like bandits in this thing. So much for the old, its time in the market that matters not timing the market adage.
And why would they drop a missive like that the day before the AGM? What is the reason? Will we ever find out?

Make Me a Motza Archa. Make me two at 2.5c. Might start to look like a good idea soon.

ARWR is on fire after the MDCO buy out. Talk now that ARWR is the next to go. If the EET technology they use is PYCs then PYC could be in for a windfall payment in licencing fees.

Failing that, a condition of the ARWR buyout could be a PYC buyout.

PYC to be valued at $500m?

Since when does a real estate guy go in for philanthropy? Barton came back for another bite on the cherry. Hockings Senior is sitting there sweating it out. Herein lies the biggest pox to ever remain listed on the NZX. In so doing, everyday they lend themselves to the destruction of any credibility the NZX may've had left.

Foward looking statement after years of trying to make a deal, promises galore and for all intensive purposes having become insolvent we get told, TRS expect to be in a position to update the market in the near future. Umm, how about updating the market now! In your interim. That's what it is for!

How can we be sure of the amount of shares on issue if Junior hasn't filled the Appendix?

Would love to know what the legal requirements of disclosure is for that one.

I wonder if OMD and Enumerate topped up. lol

Silence Therapeutics which is constantly getting a pump from Dirk (the same way he was adamant IONS is a must have and ALNY was "losing" it) once took a significant stake in ARWR only to sell it a short while later for a modest profit. This was at a time when they were under pressure for capital. Had they have kept the stake they would look like financial geniuses by now. But the most interesting thing for me was at the time they kept alluding to a third party playing hard ball and a desire for them to make a deal. I am quite sure they were referring to ALNY. Nothing ever came of it publicly. They also were adamant they would prosecute their IP claims to the ends of the earth. I haven't been following their claims to know what the outcome there is. But if a deal were done at the time and kept quiet then it reinforces my belief that ARWR is in for a serious correction and ALNY even at these prices are still looking cheap. The fact that the same vultures involved with BLT, the likes of Sabby and Co., were also involved with ARWR will ultimately prove the fact.

Bring on Pfizer and ALNY.

I took a look at BigCharts.com and plotted the All Data graph for PYC. I was stunned in its simplicity and the bullishness of it.

Its a massive cup and saucer.

Should this thing stay listed, next stop is ten cents then its all the way through to about 40c. Albeit over a lengthy timeframe.

It makes the argument for a buyout all that much stronger. 15c is my guess. The real estate guy's underwrite was just a last minute money grab.

I have been a big proponent of ARWR. Noted their NZ connections and though that must be a good thing. Price wise I have been proven correct. But, and it is a big BUT, I have just seen one of their star performers, Locarnini, is being put forward for a directorship at BIT. BIT, is the same company where that terd director of BLT ended up after his hatchet job on BLT failed. The same hatchet job which precipitated the intervention of CSIRO.
The conclusion is, if Locarnini, ergo ARWR are associated with BIT and that terd, ARWR is toast.

Time to put your money into ALNY while it is still affordable. If you think Apple is big, then you ain't seen nothing yet!

After close my feed shows how many shares traded with buy and ask. During the day, nothing. Weird. As it stands, nearly 3.3m traded with the majority in the last half hour. Buckle up, if there is no trading halt Monday, it could be a wild time ahead of the ARWR prezzo.

Don't know what it is but the feed I use for ASX quotes are showing no quotes on the bid ask fields but the graph is showing millions were traded today with a strong price and volume surge in the last half hour. The last half hour of a Friday. The Friday before ARWR is make its quarterly presentation. The Friday before Thanksgiving week. And the Friday before the retail entitlement of the rights issue is minted.

It's my guess, we are in for a trading halt on Monday.

If Junior gets US$500m market cap in a single swoop no matter what shape it takes all power to him. He will do very nicely out of that money shot clause in his contract. Anything less, he is a failure. More, and he has done very well.

BLT could get blindsided down to 2.5c when this news breaks. Smart people already know the outcome when everything they have ever tried in the last twenty years has been a failure. Listening to the verbitage justifying themselves used to be a sport. Even they know they are wasting their time at BLT and have given up talking up their book. But the pays good so why would leave especially when the money shot is on its way.

Make Me a Motza Archa. Make me two at 2.5c!

A cap. raise. That's a surprise. Not. But look who's doing the organizing. ForBar and the old NZFC. Weren't they the same two who foisted the Sails mess onto their clients and market at large? I think they were behind Feltex too. Now after a bit of time is it old tricks with a new dog? Lets not overlook the CEO's prior history with Arborgen either. How did that work out?

After a while you realize these people have not got a shred of decency or honesty in their bones when it comes to actual shareholder value creation.

https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/fed-secre...-out-major-bank
QUOTE
Despite the Fed’s efforts, and the efforts of professional economists to sweep concerns under the rug, something is clearly broken. Why else would $120 billion in repetitive overnight repo operations be needed to control interest rates?

Could it be, just maybe, the Fed is secretly bailing out a major U.S. or foreign bank, or some other financial institution? Maybe. Maybe not. But this week the New York Fed stated it would not disclose which banks are receiving repo cash for at least two years. If this was disclosed now, an old fashioned bank run would ensue.

In the meantime, with a little imagination, today’s problems in the repo market could be a warning that CLOs are turning to toxic waste, and, as a result, are developing into the next financial crisis. While it is still unclear, it is very possible that a bank or financial institution did not have sufficient high quality collateral and was frozen out of private repo markets. Hence, the dramatic rate spike followed by Fed supplied liquidity.

The takeaway from all this: Don’t be surprised if a large bank goes belly-up with little advance notice.

DARPA are one of the foundation holders in Moderna (MRNA).
Perhaps it is MRNA who is the mystery tute. Moderna is about twenty bucks per share atm with a $6.5bn market cap. Would they buy out PYC for a new share in exchange for a few hundred of PYC? They could probably do it with petty cash.

That said, a $500m price tag for PYC is not out of the reckoning. Thats about four times more from where we are now. 20c here we come.

Wait for it! It's not far away. Talks gonna collapse with no deal.

First it was, they have a deal. Its all agreed but its only the first phase. To be signed in Chile.

Then, ooops, Chile's scrapped because of riots. But all thats needed to conclude a deal (a hugely significant deal between two great powers) is a venue. Some small farming town will do because its all about the farmers. Meanwhile, RCEP is signed.

Next a few small snags in the detail start to filter through and Trump saying, we won't sign if its not good for the US. We'll keep the tariffs instead.

Now this. Apparently, there just isn't anything to sign.

2020 will be the Year of the Great Fall of China.

Lets all MAGA together.

It's not clear when a final text will be ready for the two men to sign. The planned signing of the deal in Chile was scrapped last month because of protests in the country. In the last several days, the two sides have found themselves at odds over the finer details of an agreement that Trump announced in principle last month from the Oval Office.

Today's announcement can be interpreted as we did our end ok but the payload was a bust. Doesn't that mean, we just need another payload to get efficacy?

What we have then, is a sitting duck for a buyout by whoever has the stewardship of the magic payload. My guess is that is the mysterious tute.

Expect a buyout at a huge premium to current value for the percentage the tute doesn't already have control of. Maybe 10c. Perhaps a cornerstone a la Morphosys and Novartis. Perhaps a IP sell off leaving a cashed up shell for the real estate guy.

Whatever shape it takes, be sure that all Junior wants is that money shot clause in his contract to be activated.

So the tute has to buy in to PYC on order for PYC to buy out it's JV partner. Which leaves PYC cash hungry still. A rushed retail rights issue isn't gonna do a lot for them. So where's the next lump sum coming from? Will there be another lump sum? Does the real estate guy really give a damn about pre- clinical drug development and philanthropy when he sees the risks and costs involved? Does Junior want to see his payout clause activated or not? And why is the tutes identity a big secret?

The second payment still hasn't been made, no comment from the new liquidator and no reason given why the other one left but the contract still remains with the same company.
A long time has passed since these comments were made in the first instance. We hear nothing more about the million trees programme.
We hear about the "One Company" policy with Arborgen Ltd. but the fact remains there are two companies with shareholders in one having no legal recourse to the assets in the other no matter what policy Junior wants to shout about.
Cash might be getting down a bit too without the second payment.

We will all know a bit more by the end of the month when the interim is released.

That retail component is so rushed, just eleven days, I fear I will be excluded from participating. I haven't received my papers yet and when I do there will be the time taken to mail it back. I wonder if this is part of the plan. By making it non-renounceable and cutting it to the bone with timelines perhaps excluding as many shareholders from participating is the actual intention so that those in the know can grab as much of the pie as possible.

Every day the headlines for a US China trade deal change. A couple of days ago it was going fine and all they wanted was a venue... some farming town was the quote... imagine that. What's wrong with the White House or Beijing?

Then, Trump is saying he won't sign any deal unless it's good for the US.

Today, there is a problem with opioids. A bit ironic considering the history of the Opium Wars and the fact that the majority of opium comes from Afghanistan which is US occupied. In fact, if you look closely you can see some parallels between US Japan pre WWII relations which resulted in Japanese Imperialism and the current China situation and Chinese economic colonization.

Keep an eye out for the next war in the Pacific. But don't look for a Pearl Harbour or Midway.

The short story is there won't be a trade deal. Trump is gonna welch out. The conviction isn't there. But something has to happen. It's Thanksgiving and Christmas soon and Pfizer is still AWOL.

According to the investor presentation on 31/10 tute shares were issued and settled on the 7th. Trading of them began the next day, the same day as the 3B.

If thats the case, how come no SSH notices today? They knew before they were settled on the 7th they would be getting them. With two trading days and a weekend since they were settled you'd think if they had nothing to hide they'd file their SSH. Especially when they're able to file a 3B.

If I see the name Sabby when these SSH notices are filed all I can say is PYC deserves the pox it is about to get.But if this is as bad as it gets after being involved with Citigroup and Alnylam then its not too bad. Unfortunately, I don't believe this is as bad as it gets.

Seldom does FBU move over 5% with an uptick in volume in a single day for no reason. Especially after a catastrophic fire with unknown consequences in an environment where building companies are feeling the property bust. Does that mean we can expect some kind of announcement? A spin out or a sale of a business unit?

Hopefully we will hear the strategy they have for keeping their NASDAQ listing at the AGM. I wonder if it will be dependent on the HBV strategy, the head and neck cancer strategy or the secret that they can't tell us strategy. Perhaps there's a altogether new yet to be chrystallized strategy. One things for sure, if their lips are moving you know you are being lied to.

As every day ticks over and the weeks go by for it to now be just seven weeks until Christmas, it looks more and more like the year will draw to a close with all the AGMs being held, nothing changed and then right on Xmas Eve the bomb will drop. The Christmas break will be used to get the message out there on what it all means and what values everything will carry.

I'm guessing we'll see the creation of an ultimate holding company being listed as it is spun out of the government's books. A keiretsu in shape and function but with the ultimate holding company at its core instead of a bank.

Technology companies make more money than a bank and they are outdated anyway. The purpose of the Bitcoin and other cyber currencies is to depower and disrupt their power and control. In short, it's goodbye, Mr. Rothschild.

If you were to consider that most company constitutions, including BLT's, require only a two week notice for an EGM or a late addition of business to the AGM, then the next week could be pivotal if Thanksgiving Day is actually the milestone we are waiting for. Could be Christmas. One thing is for sure, no way can next year be a continuation of this year. Its been absolutely dire. Especially when you consider RNAi is supposed to be the next big thing and in the US it most certainly is. Vested interests will be eager to see Make Me a Motza Archa make them a motza as well.

All the HC pumptards have just upped stumps and gone home. Very strange if there is an El Dorado there like they have said. What a shame the market doesn't know about and now there is nobody to tell them about it. I think there is like eight weeks left before the NASDAQ kicks them out. Absolutely nothing going on to indicate they are doing anything about it.

The 3bn shares on issue gives the lie away to insto raise and a clue to the whereabouts of the rat.

Just ask yourself, what self respecting insitution with prudential compliance at the heart of its credibility when it comes to managing other peoples money is going to put a single bean into a tin pot biotech with 3bn shares on issue and dominated by two shareholders, one a real estate guy and the other has his boy acting as CEO with a very generous payout clause in his contract?

Three options are listed in the trading halt notice as the catalyst for trading again. The second option (2.b.) appears it will meet the condition of being the earliest of the three to trigger the resumption of trading requirement.

In that case, watch for the suspension to kick in with no further information to be released about the cap. raise.

Therein lies the rat. Can't you smell it already?

Finally an update on the HK dairy company I follow. Its a mandatory quarterly update and it appears the submissions for restructuring from the liquidators have been refused on the grounds of not satisfying requirements. To me it looks like those with sleight hands are making their move. It makes this APEC cancellation all the more intriguing.

Meanwhile, more of this coming to an Australian bank near you soon. The Great Fall of China.

If delivery in to the cell for intracellular engineering is what PYC are all about then why are they not working with BLT?

BLT have publicly stated they have a delivery problem for their ddRNAi technology and are currently working on OPMD with it.

PYC have publicly stated they are working on delivery for therapeutics and I think they too have stated they are focusing on OPMD as well.

Why then have the two Australian companies not met up with each other and formed some kind of collaboration together?

It just defies logic. And therein may lie the rat I can smell when I listen to Junior speak.

Despite the rhetoric of Arborgen being the main game and complete focus of the management team and how there is now no difference between parent and child the fact that they haven't amalgamated the two tells us, especially after such a lengthy period of time, that there is no real intention of doing so. The part we would all like to know is why. Junior may be a great ventriloquist's dummy but as we all know, you just can't fool all of the people all of the time.
So whats this guy's game when Dad owns the majority of the company and Hughie and Luke have gone already?

MBO or use it as a vehicle for a new company with simultaneous spin off and IPO of Arborgen is about all I can see.

If they don't address the issue of the second Tenon payment and the reason why its delayed for so long in the interim then we know they're trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes. That they didn't in the last update rings alarm bells.

It's funny. The HK dairy company I follow had a termination date of August 17 to submit its restructuring plans or face delisting. Two and a half months later, still no delisting. Despite the name change and what could be considered deliberate obfuscation the fact remains Arborgen Holdings is a completely different company from Arborgen and shareholders of one have no claim to the assets of the other in a legal capacity.

Until Junior comes clean on what he is up to this could still end up in tears for shareholders.

After reading this weekend that the government intends to make a big announcement on the economy before the end of the year I am inclined to think it will be a Xmas present before its a Thanksgiving present. The present being closer economic integration with Australian industry.

BLT's AGM is scheduled for Thanksgiving Day if you are in the US and because there is nothing about Make Me a Motza Archa in it but plenty of money grabbing going on then the only thing to conclude is it will be an EGM that does the damage. Announced before Xmas.

I once saw a massive deal announced right on Xmas Eve. It was so big and such a shock to the market the break was needed to get the message out there on the implications of it and how the market should respond. I suspect this might be the same.

Trump is all about a deal. A Middle East deal. A trade deal. And a God knows what else deal. So if something big has just happened, then its my bet its a big deal.

One of the reasons why NZ media is so relevant is because if it transpires there is Australian involvment in the new entity, should there be one, it is indicative of the amalgamation of various Trans- Tasman industries rather than a straight out bargain basement buyout of a distressed asset by a foreign company for the purpose of profit maximization and export of those profits.

Whatever template is used, it will probably be employed in biotechnology.

I wonder what the Americans think of it all. Especially Pfizer.

Interesting times in NZ media at the moment with TV3 going on the block. It should be expected an Australian company would buy it but this has not been reported. Nothing has been said by government either about coming to the rescue or the need for a rescuer. If you consider they are the only real competition on the airwaves to the SOE of TVNZ then it is imperative a buyer be found. Otherwise we will end up with a state owned monopoly. Thats something akin to what communist Russia had. Can't have that in a open market led economy.
So what to be then?
It is consistent with the structure of a keiretsu that you have co-operative competitors in the media and industry at large for that matter, but not a collusive competitor. In that sector players do not conspire to form a cartel but compete with each other for the consumers benefit. In a zero sum game of perfect competition it is inevitable losers will materialize. Remember Microsoft and Apple? Apple went on to become the worlds most valuable company after Microsoft recognized the need for competition and saved them from bankruptcy. How did they do this? They had a disruptive technology in the iPad that ultimately led to the iPhone.

I think it is fair to say, TV3 is going to emerge with a disruptive media model for business. I would not at all be surprised if TVNZ and an Australian media entity join the fray at the same time to ensure the competition survives and thrives and co-operates on the things that matter.
How is this even remotely related to BLT? If biotech is to be incorporated into the keiretsu model then the media will be a related entity.

Every other biotech which has provided a AGM notice has set the date for just a bit before Thanksgiving Day. Considering BLT needs only give two weeks notice for it, mid November would be a good time to tell us why getting out of a failed science technology cheaply and into a internet of things company like Make Me a Motza Archa is a good idea.

It would also put us on the other side of a Brexit decision and right before the APEC meeting where Trump meets Xi to sign the trade agreement between the US and China which, when the news breaks will put the Western alliance at the top of the pecking order in the New World Order. Whether it's true or not is moot.

After seeing the reaction to ARWR's Analyst Day from the market, it's fair to say we are witnessing the failure of scientific success as value creating metric in the market place. We will have to wait for another driver to create the value. My best guess on that is market access into China for US pharmacy. Just imagine the impact of all those consumers on the bottom line.

One other question I would like to put to Junior at the AGM pertains to the targets they intend to select for future development. How do they select them? Is their any kind of transaction cost in selecting them? Who pays whom if there is? Its all well and good choosing a disease but if you delivering antisense oligoes, these are normally directed to a gene. How does PYC know which piece of genetic code to target?

Sarcasm aside, what are shareholders gonna think the next time the name Hockings pops up in a company?

A perfect example of how greed shoots you in the foot.

They're messing with us on the AGM notice. It must be how they get their kicks. If you go by last year, they are nearly two weeks late on giving notice and if they hold the meeting on the same day as last year, there is only three weeks to go. That the Constitution says two weeks notice is necessary, we should have something in the next week should the meeting be held on or about the same day. Perhaps we should be looking at the quarterly for something to happen.
This company will never amount to anything. The sooner they back in Make me a Motza Archa the better off everyone will be.

By this time last year PYC had issued its AGM notice. A month later, they held the AGM. It was late by any measure.

This year, to date there is no AGM notice. But Junior wants to sprinkle the good news with presentations and slide shows while ignoring the blatantly obvious...who's paying Junior?

Nobody ever took a dance with ALNY and walked away unscathed.

Not a good omen at all. And a quick look at PEB's history is enough to put anyone off. Another chime in the death knell of publicly listed biotech.

Taxpayer-backed Caldera Health, which was developing a urine test to detect prostate cancer, is being wound up after a decade-long slog.

Some $16 million of shareholders' funds were spent on research and development in a 10-year effort to develop a non-invasive, low-cost test, chairman Alastair MacCormick told the Herald.

But although the R&D drive was successful in late-stage trials, companies in the US, Europe and Japan have recently made similar breakthroughs and investors decided it was not financially viable to compete.

ARWR's Analyst Day in a couple of days. Perhaps something to be revealed there might be behind the recent run up in price. Certainly isn't because of anything Junior's been saying. If they've taken a leaf out of Pharmasset's book when GILD bought them out, the boil should be just about done and the move will be made before ARWR makes it's presentation to the entire world.

So much for letting the market know about any deal they might make.

Doesn't stop the insiders buying though. Three million traded today on a share that not only never trades it never has any shares for sale in the depth of any volume.

Where is the AGM notice?

I want to attend so I can ask Junior whether Dad wants to stump up for another cap. raise in order to meet all these goals they keep throwing up at us.

Maybe he's so busy skiing in Queenstown ( do they still have those junkets?) he's forgotten about it.

The unilateralism will finally become the bilateralism originally conceived as the new world order. The markets will just have to stay stuck in mud until it happens. But it should all be over in the next little while now the China deal has been made. Six weeks until Thanksgiving. God only knows how long until we get an AGM notice. Wonder what the hold up is.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_world_order_(politics)

QUOTE
The most widely discussed application of the phrase of recent times came at the end of the Cold War. Presidents Mikhail Gorbachev and George H. W. Bush used the term to try to define the nature of the post-Cold War era and the spirit of great power cooperation that they hoped might materialize. Gorbachev's initial formulation was wide-ranging and idealistic, but his ability to press for it was severely limited by the internal crisis of the Soviet system. In comparison, Bush's vision was not less circumscribed: "A hundred generations have searched for this elusive path to peace, while a thousand wars raged across the span of human endeavor. Today that new world is struggling to be born, a world quite different from the one we've known".[1] However, given the new unipolar status of the United States, Bush's vision was realistic in saying that "there is no substitute for American leadership".[1] The Gulf War of 1991 was regarded as the first test of the new world order: "Now, we can see a new world coming into view. A world in which there is the very real prospect of a new world order. [...] The Gulf war put this new world to its first test".

Next step in this new world order is Brexit. That's due the end of this month. Hard or soft, no matter. After that, watch Europe burn, is my guess. A banking disaster coming to a high street near you. And America will carry on as the leader with its poodle in tow. Might be why Trump had such kind words for her after the pomp fest.

After a prezzo like that at such an exclusive event you'd think anything antisense associated would be going through the roof. ANP, IONS and swag of others all look like they've been hit in the head with a brick. What's going on? Something coming from left field? The answers just don't seem to be in the market.

No update from the HK dairy company I follow either. Despite their delisting deadline being August 17th which was already an extension. The company isn't showing as delisted which means it has to still be listed. As it is, it is just sitting in the twilight zone. Not delisting and not re-listing.Whatever they agreed to, it takes time to filter through to the market. Although it could be as soon as tomorrow.

The deal is signed in the next three or four weeks. I think we will see it in the market before then. Pfizer still AWOL. No sign of the AGM notice either. Six weeks until Thanksgiving.

If this trade agreement sets the gold standard for US - China trade, then it provides the blueprint for our RCEP negotiations. Including IP and financials. So watch this space on biotechs and banks.

In all honesty this is a total remake of the US - Japan situation in the nineties. Financial, IP(IT&T including privatization of the telcoes) and agriculture were the key sticking points then just as they are now except the IP is more biotech. Perhaps we will see some privatizations in this space. Just like CSL. I remember a huge breakthrough and deal being announced then by Amgen. That's what made them what they are today. This time it has to be ALNY.

Apparently the success or failure of the US - China trade deal all depends on how Nero feels on the day.

Donald J. Trump‏Verified account @realDonaldTrump 6h6 hours ago One of the great things about the China Deal is the fact that, for various reasons, we do not have to go through the very long and politically complex Congressional Approval Process. When the deal is fully negotiated, I sign it myself on behalf of our Country. Fast and Clean!

But he must be in a good mood at the moment. Subject to change though and I suspect also on whether the USMCA gets through the Senate. But the real catch is to see it happen in the market place. Perhaps next week is the week. Long weekend in the US this weekend. Perhaps we have to wait until the eve of Thanksgiving. Or, perhaps it will all be revealed in the missing AGM notice.

Trump Says "Phase One" Of China Trade Deal Reached, Tariff Hike Delayed, Enforcement Plan 'Still Being Worked Out'

Stocks cemented their best weekly performance in months on Friday after President Trump and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He - in a replay of their joint press conference from April (where the two men announced that the two sides were 'close' to a deal, which would assuredly be reached within a brief time frame) - revealed that Washington and Beijing had agreed to what Trump described as a "substantial, 'Phase One' deal.
During the ensuing press conference, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin revealed that Washington would delay tariff hikes that were scheduled for next week (However, Trade Rep Robert Lighthizer said Trump hasn't made up his mind about the hike set for Dec. 15).

According to Trump & Co., the deal includes agreements on IP, financial services companies' access to the Chinese market, and purchases of American agricultural products by Chinese firms.

Things are looking good but we know the Americans love their theatre so its a question of will they or won't they? Because its almost a given that when it gets to the top of the pecking order its pretty much a done deal.
Personally, I think they will go for the theatre option but we will see the outcomes of the negotiations come out in the market first before the deal is announced.

Something smelly going on in the liquidation of Tenon. For some reason that second payment just isn't getting made, the first liquidator expected it to be, said it would be and then for reasons not stated vacated the position and had his mate appointed.

The NBR used to have this bit between their teeth but they too have gone quiet.

Very, very smelly and strikes to the heart of the integrity of those involved.

Funny thing is, it's a NZX company and the main chat room for NZX stock discussion, Sharetrader, this thing never even gets a mention. It's almost like RBC discussion is outlawed. There was another site that set up where RBC got some air time and it got shut down. Go figure. It's like there is an invisible hand wielding a knife through the cyber air.

Any funny looking trading in the last half hour today is the clue. Keep a watch on for it. Might not be in BLT either. PYC is my bet.

Seems BNYMC is playing the game. Same game we've seen in a few others. Especially the agricultural sector.

It's worthwhile observing the Annual Report was issued very early this year but the AGM notice is very late. Yet in the meantime huge volumes and wild price movements have taken place. Who the seller is hasn't been made clear.

You can't tell me it's not because of what is in the AGM notice.

Heard a story about single strand antisense the other day up at Auckland University. That's where OMD and Enumerate once had a fortuitous meeting. Fancy that, PYC cheese hanging out at Auckland University. The guy reckoned PYC is basically a modification of the single strand antisense to assist in delivery. As if we didn't know the last part, but if the first part is true, then the million dollar question is, who owns single stranded antisense? Is that IONS?

Not only the cap. raise coming but a closer look at the Vision spin off deal indicates to me the eyes are going to get picked out of PYC while shareholders are kept in the dark about actual dealings and therefore completely blind and oblivious. All you got do is ask yourself the question of why is one of the largest shareholders a real estate guy?
