Apparently some Indian group has bought in for 50% JV according to news reported on another site. Don't know whether that is true though.

Yeh now that you mention it and then one does some googling, there are some interesting articles

Mr. Som, who was in Australia with an Indian delegation recently, said the company has also reached an informal understanding with Australia's Minemakers Ltd. to jointly develop one of the largest rock phosphate projects in the country's Northern Territory. NMDC will soon prepare a detailed project report and if it is found to be satisfactory, the company will look at buying up to a 50% stake in the Australian company, Mr. Som said.

More from the Indian News

NMDC Ltd., India's largest iron ore miner, may rise after its fourth-quarter profit almost doubled, in line with analyst estimates, as prices surged. Chairman Rana Som separately announced plans to acquire a 50 percent stake in Minemakers Ltd.'s phosphate mine in Australia.

Wonder what price they are negotiating - can only be good for MAK share price - lets just sit back and enjoy the ride rolleyes.gif
