Pre-Commercial Demonstration Success

Pre-Commercial Demonstration progress

• Gas flows have been continuing for 53 days
• Gasifier currently in Pyrolysis - the final phase before commercial Syngas flow

Leigh Creek Energy Limited (ASX: LCK) (“LCK” or “the Company”) is pleased to provide the following status
report on the Company’s Pre-Commercial Demonstration facility (PCD) at Leigh Creek.

The progress outlined in this announcement brings LCK closer to commencing the process to upgrade a
portion of its 2,964 2C PRMS resource, to proven and probable reserve status. This re-valuation of the
company’s major asset will add significant value.

The South Australian Regulator has released a technical paper on the development of the Leigh Creek PCD
gasifier, which can be found at:

LCK’s major objective is to achieve commercial Syngas flow and commencement of the PRMS upgrade
process in Q4 2018, with an upgrade of a portion of LCK’s 2,964 2C PJ resource to reserve status in Q1 2019.

LCK moves closer to first gas

Activity Notification for drilling of ISG Process Wells has been approved
• Site construction activities commenced and on schedule
• PCD operations (first gas flow) expected Q3 2018
Leigh Creek Energy Limited (ASX: LCK) (“LCK” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce that it has received
the second of the three Activity Notifications (AN) required to move towards demonstrating gas flow at the
Pre-Commercial Demonstration (PCD) stage of the Leigh Creek Energy Project (LCEP)

AN’s are required to advise the Regulator of the specific activities that will be undertaken under the
framework of the SEO. The ANs submitted are for the following activities:

1. PCD Aboveground plant construction APPROVED
2. PCD Process well drilling APPROVED
3. PCD Operations including operating, decommissioning and monitoring

LCK and its contractors were able to commence activities for the assembly of PCD modules and supporting
services and equipment immediately after approval of the first AN. This schedule is on target and is expected
to take approximately 8 weeks to complete from approval.

With the AN for Process Well Drilling now received, three process wells will be drilled to service the
underground ISG chamber. This is a scheduled 4-5 week activity that will commence immediately and is
concurrent with other site operations.

Production of First Gas
Once the final AN has been obtained the PCD can be operated, representing first gas flow at Leigh Creek.

Over the coming weeks we will regularly advise our shareholders and the market of our progress and the
anticipated date of first Gas Production as well as other important announcements.

LCK receives Environmental Approval

• Statement of Environmental Objectives (SEO) gazetted by South Australia’s Regulator for
Pre-Commercial Demonstration (PCD) Operations at Leigh Creek

Leigh Creek Energy Limited (ASX: LCK) (“LCK” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce that it has received
Statement of Environmental Objectives (SEO) approval for the Pre-Commercial Demonstration (PCD) stage of
the Leigh Creek Energy Project (LCEP).

PCD Approval Process
Under South Australian Petroleum and Geothermal Energy regulations, any regulated activities must have an
approved SEO in place with which they comply, prepared on the basis of an Environmental Impact Report
(EIR).

After extensive investigation and consultation by the South Australian government the SEO for the PCD has
now been completed and gazetted. The SEO for the LCEP PCD was approved by the Minister for Mining and
Energy, and gazetted on Thursday, 19 April 2018. This constitutes the environmental approval for PCD
operations, and follows the completion of the public consultation stage for the PCD.

Prior to commencing on-site works, LCK must now submit its activity notifications (AN’s). The AN’s are
required to advise the Regulator of the specific activities that will be undertaken under the framework of the
SEO. LCK expects the AN processes to be completed promptly with updates to be provided in due course.
