krk004
QUOTE (triage @ Monday 10/12/07 12:46pm) triage, Bromby obviously knows his resources & other industrials pretty well. (I'm sure he must have heard of IPL, AWB, AAC, NUF ????) I think we can see by the lonely postings by our mate 'yellowcake' on HC, that there doesn't seem to be the agri-stock following happening yet (!). - Even on HC! Assumming the ASX200 holds up, may still allow us some time to 'accumulate'. (Might be better if we saw some form of correction, even if just to get IPL back down closer to it's 200 day ema for a potential entry point!!!) NUF's Hoggard makes mention on the 'very positive environment and future outlook for companies involved in agricultural industries' in today's 'lapse' notice issued via ASX. (I suppose he would say that though!) I looked over the PrimeAg brochure and noticed water entitlements with Corish's property sale. - Will still wait to see after float I reckon on this one though. http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/cool.gif Cheers, DYOR & KYOIS. bunyip2
Still like my TFC. This time next year & then > "Zoom". FCL still just fiddling along. Always great expectations but nothing for long suffering share holders. Sold 2000 about 12 months ago & tripled it with TFC & still get "divvies". Wish I'd sold more but keep as core cushion stock. Aging slows the "Punting" instinct. Merry Xmas all. b2.
krk004
In reply to: bunyip2 on Wednesday 19/12/07 01:01pm bunyip2, TFC - nice little SP pattern over last 3 years (esp. last 12 months!). - merry xmas indeed. http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/cool.gif Certainly moving in a better shape than TIM, SHV or GTP over same time! Bought some WFL last week, so will see how they progress over next period of time! - nice divvy. FCL - just doing what it always seems to do - just drift around! http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/wacko.gif DYOR & KYOIS.
krk004
Seeing a few more of the 'tip sheets' starting to predict an Agricultural boom. FWIW; Betting the Farm in 2008 The trick will be to choose your vehicles to attempt to benefit from any potential boom. Powerhouse IPL has run hard already. +300% for 2007. NUF attracted some attention with buyout talks, but SP has dropped off when this fell through. AWB still reeling with the 'kickback' legal action being announced yesterday. Do your research and see what you come up with! http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/graduated.gif DYOR & KYOIS. - I currently hold ABB & WFL. krk004
Recession Safe Haven?? With prices high, farming is bright spot in U.S. Nice little comments from article to end; "I think that agriculture is definitely the bright spot in the economy" "Everywhere I go, agriculture is on fire" Nothing is ever certain in life, but Agri - stocks looking very favourable. http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif DYOR & KYOIS. krk004
(Also posted on PAG forum) PAG - listed today! http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/weirdsmiley.gif Down to $1.74 at this early (very) stage. Will see how it settles in first few weeks to see how well management have 'priced' what they purchased - initially. http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/graduated.gif Then will see about potential entry point - no promises on this one though. Ag stock boom - do some research! DYOR & KYOIS.
krk004
(Also posted on IPL forum) IPL - Incitec Pivot Impressive rise from mid-November from ~$81 to just under $120 the other week. From an Elliott Wave viewpoint, move from there looks a clean a 5-wave structure as I have seen. (by no means am I a practising EW practitioner, but take a keen interest, more from indices perspective though!) Would suggest some consolidation/retracement down to the area $102-$110 (previous w4) before another move up?? (that's the extent of my forecasting(??) abilities - sorry!) I have been waiting for a move down to 200 day ema (~$75) with an overall market correction, but alas none. http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif Seems to have the 89 day ema as support (currently at ~$90) for it's move of last 2 years. Will continue to watch and wait. DYOR & KYOIS. - I don't, but want to, hold.
krk004
(Also posted on NUF forum) The 2 ASX-listed shares most likely to prosper in a potential Agricultural boom, would have to be IPL (fertiliser) and NUF (chemicals) - both inputs required by farmers to ultimately produce crops. IPL has had it's fantastic run over last 2 years. Yet to 'speak' to it's 200 day ema for about 18 months. NUF has had it's gains over that same time, up from sub-$4 in 2003 to sub-$18 over last couple of months. Currently NUF is 'speaking' to it's 200 day ema, with close on Friday (28/12) at $14.08 and 200 day ema at ~$14.10. DYOR & KYOIS. - I don't currently hold either - yet. http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif
