Generally Agricultural companies are found in the Consumer Staples - Food Products sector.

 

WBA - exports fruit and vegetables, plus is the largest shareholder in TGR. FCL is WBA's largest shareholder.

 

TFC - Sandalwood Plantations, MIS plus own plantations outright.

 

BUG - Buderim Ginger

 

MSF - Maryborough Sugar Factory

 

OLE - Olive Oil

 

WCB - Warrnambool Cheese and Butter Factory

ARJ- an agricultural property company out of the ashes of Chesterton Mining.

 

ARJ is strongly connected to the Rewards Group out of WA, a privately held MIS scheme business. ARJ is the owner of the properties. Mostly on 20 year lease backs to the MIS investors. Mango Farms, Strawberry Farms, Tropical Fruits, Sandalwood and Teak plantations.

Keep any suggestions coming as I believe we may be seeing the emergence of a new bull market (provided the local up-trend remains intact). Those mouths in China & India are going to want to be fed and they may not just be settling for the basics!

 

DYOR before investing, not saying all these companies are worthwhile or that they represent good value.

There are a few more aquaculture related companies . . . but suppose have to draw the line somewhere.

I noticed at the start of the thread you invited views concerning the sector .. . l've recently covered my views on stock threads particularly GTP/TIM . . . but l recently started using the " What is the next "cheap" asset class to invest in?" thread.

 

Theres some discussion from about two months ago on that threas.
