King Baz
In reply to: Winston001 on Thursday 17/05/07 07:21pm Hi Winston - fairly interesting to consider what part of the supply chain to participate in. The engineering/logistics route you suggest though important, provides minimal exposure to the asset-value of water as opposed to a more traditional commodity approach. Like l say, a govt-decision or move by a utility or a desalinisation plant could throw valuations up in the air, but as a whole - no doubt an area of strategic importance and well worth considering for investment. blueice
Any one noticed that their water bill is a lot higher this time round??? Mine is, and the funny thing is that I have water saving devices through out my home, a water tank, and use the water very conservatively, and yet still get a bill that is higher than my previous ones???? Any one else complaining or just me????????
bam_bamm
has your rate for water use gone up? has the average daily water use gone up? perhaps you've got a leaking pipe?

jwlkr
My god, I thought KB was back until it dawned upon me this is not a new thread. Timely revival anyhow. Our family has consistently managed to maintain a sustainable level of water usage per person day below the 145L threshold. It's hovering around the 125L mark and not exceeding 132L at the worst of times (my old man to blame). A list of implemented changes est March 2009: * 4 minute showers * rainwater use in outdoor applications * grey water to flush outhouse * minimal maintenance yards; no watering * handwash cars; no hosing * Only use washer once every 2 months for heavy manchester; all else via hand * Threw out dishwasher * Indoor usage drained into grey-water cistern for reuse outdoors * Recycle mulch to enable water retention and moisture/dew collection * NO BOOZE!
