Current SPP closed today - is anyone going in for it? 2:1 entitlement. Seemed a close one to call - free 10 year options (5c exercise) 1:1 but current sales of JWM at 5.3c and SPP is 7c.

But by comparison with QUR and QUROB I concluded the options might be worth from 3c to 1c. So in total this SPP is a waste of my time. A dissapointment as I bought JWM at 8c to participate in the SPP.

Joe Gutnick seems to have got it wrong. Maybe its all part of his vision. Maybe there are followers who buy on faith and it does not have to be a worthwhile offer. Thats not the way I see investing. For me its a dud. Not underwritten, so I can't see any good of it for anyone, Joe or the investors.

JWM only ever got two posts on Hot Copper, and they seemed cynical:

Johnson's Well Mining (JWM) and Falcon Minerals (FCN) have had increased activity in the last couple of months. JWM $0.065 to $0.105 and FCN $0.03 to $0.16 FCN has done a runner, JWM appears to be accumulated.

Both JWM and FCN claim 20% of the Duketon Joint Venture to be their own, with Newmont Mining as their JV partner...?

Both are also associated in Collurabbie ~160kms north of Laverton, JWM targeting gold, FCN nickel

Does anybody hold an opinion on why JWM appears to be held back and possibly accumulated?

I hold OXR, EDN, GUN, WSA, GIR, BDL, JWM & GUN

well, well, well, another of Gutnick's stable that has just started to move along with QUR &
GRK (up 6.5c today) JWM & QUR have enough money to buy tea & biscuits until the end of
sep..........this year. However Joe may or may not bail them out from time to time.QUROB would be the buy of the century if you could pick it up at 1c as it is the longest running option of all time. As are some others in QUR/JWN expire on Oct 2012 and I thought 5 yrs was the max for options. Must have moved the goalposts yet again.Maybe it will be the second coming if Diamond Joe can find the goods.

G'day

Like Gutnick's other miners - Gutnick Resources (GKR) and Astra Mining (ARO), the stock is predominantly held by Gutnick himeself (over 80/90% in most cases).

It's always hard to work out what's going on with his stock but some people have made an absolute truck load from him in the past (GKR was many $$$ higher when the Mt Kersey thing took off in mid-90s).

So...the thing is....take a punt on this one and be prepared to be very very patient. There is no point trying to read graphs on these stocks - they are at the whim of Gutnick. They are worth a punt - but not on any fundamentals - just as alternate style wagering & gambling should you get tired of the casinos and the nags. I don't hold, won't be buying, but have had a look at them from time to time.

They always look interesting and can easily go to $1 if they ever find anything given the stock is soooooooo tightly held.

Whilst I have read very little of JWM, it was picked in this months SS comp & this reconstruction is no doubt a new broom trying to get things moving.

JWMO a recent issue 2014 option of 5c seems a well leveraged play trading last sale 3.5c now a buyer at 3.7c so certainly worth a close watch.

Also be aware of JWMOA & JWMOB with no buyers or sellers.

From 31/08 JWM becomes RRL & will definitely be worth a 'watch' to see what the new directors can do.

Regis Resources sparkles

Date: November 29 2004

ByÃÆâ€â„¢ÃƒÆ’ƒâ€Â ÃƒÆ’¢Ã¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚¬Ãƒ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢ÃƒÆ’ƒÆ’¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚¬Ãƒâ€¦Ã‚¡ÃƒÆ’‚¬Ãƒâ€Â¦ÃƒÆ’‚¡ÃƒÆ’Æâ€â„¢ÃƒÆ’ƒÂ¢Ãƒ¢Ã¢Ã¢â€š¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¬ÃƒÆ’…¡ÃƒÆ’â€Å¡Ãƒƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚ Barry FitzGerald

WMC Resources' heavy promotion of its Collurabbie nickel-platinum discovery in Western Australia is rubbing off on the junior exploration end of the market.

And it's not restricted to WMC's Collurabbie partner, Falcon Minerals. Look at Regis Resources NL, the renamed Johnson's Well, once part of Joe Gutnick's mining and exploration empire.

In August, when the handover from Gutnick to the new guard at Regis was under way, the stock was trading at 6.4ÃÆâ€â„¢ÃƒÆ’ƒâ€Â ÃƒÆ’¢Ã¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚¬Ãƒ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢ÃƒÆ’ƒÆ’¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚¬Ãƒâ€¦Ã‚¡ÃƒÆ’‚¬Ãƒâ€Â¦ÃƒÆ’‚¡ÃƒÆ’Æâ€â„¢ÃƒÆ’ƒÂ¢Ãƒ¢Ã¢Ã¢â€š¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¬ÃƒÆ’…¡ÃƒÆ’â€Å¡Ãƒƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚¢ a share. On Friday it was well bid at 12.5ÃÆâ€â„¢ÃƒÆ’ƒâ€Â ÃƒÆ’¢Ã¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚¬Ãƒ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢ÃƒÆ’ƒÆ’¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚¬Ãƒâ€¦Ã‚¡ÃƒÆ’‚¬Ãƒâ€Â¦ÃƒÆ’‚¡ÃƒÆ’Æâ€â„¢ÃƒÆ’ƒÂ¢Ãƒ¢Ã¢Ã¢â€š¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¬ÃƒÆ’…¡ÃƒÆ’â€Å¡Ãƒƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚¢ a share.

Gutnick will be pleased to see the value of his remaining 128 million shares on the improve. Like the rest of us, he can do with the $7.8 million gain since August.

There are two reasons for the reawakening of the former high-flyer. Firstly there is the group's big ground position, which adjoins the WMC-Falcon ground. What's more, the prospective rock units that are host to the Collurabbie's nickel-platinum hits track into the Regis ground, the subject of a joint venture with gold king Newmont.

Then there are the Regis gold interests, again the subject of a joint venture with Newmont. The restructured Regis has a net interest in 336,000 ounces of gold, most of it coming from the highly fancied Moolart Well property.

Newmont reckons Moolart Well has the potential to be the sort of 3 million ounce-plus property it likes to deal with and has one of the country's biggest exploration efforts under way to make it so.

Thanks to Collurabbie, Regis has the twin focus of potential big-time gold and a strong "nearology" exposure to the country's hottest nickel-platinum property.

Gutnick has nothing to do with Regis now, other than holding a not insignificant residual 44 per cent interest. But under agreements linked to the restructure, he must reduce that to less than 20 per cent within two years. It must be done in consultation with Regis as it is in no one's interest to see the stock dumped.
