wolverine
In reply to: simonk83 on Thursday 21/02/08 03:04pm conceptually speaking simon, GDR can announce away, until they get all the sticky things like financing out of the way i suspect in this market will just sit back and watch them. sca69001
Well today is the last day for GDR to release the Eureka Feasibility study if they are to meet their committment to shareholders. Will they do it? Going by their past performance in meeting milestones, probably not.... But we live in hope. http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif
getsmart
In reply to: sca69001 on Friday 29/02/08 07:18am Quarterly stated, "formal announcement is anticipated during February 2008" This is consistent with their, possible, probable, could be, would be, should be, maybe, style.. http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/unsure.gif max. sca69001
In reply to: getsmart on Friday 29/02/08 09:22am That is only a technicality. They state Feb 2008 without qualification twice in the quarterly. Both times in bold. Once in the Highlights on the front page and once in bold at the bottom of page 2 and also on page 3. We know the market is driven much more by sentiment than by logic and technicalities. If they do not announce today or provide a statement with a good reason for not doing so today it is yet another indication that they cannot meet their own targets. I am a holder and it gives me no pleasure to acknowledge that although the story and prospects are good, they are their own worst enemies at meeting deadlines and the expectations that they themselves have created in the first place. Ronin
In reply to: getsmart on Friday 29/02/08 08:22am GDR seemed to have a bob each way with the quarterly, as in addition to stating: "formal announcement is anticipated during February 2008" it also stated (bottom p.2): "Once the Board has completed its final review and made a decision on the EDFS outcomes, a comprehensive announcement will be made to the market during February 2008." Given the latter was in bold and its position at the end of the discussion implied a conclusion, it certainly left me with the impression that a formal announcement would arrive before the end of February. However, whenever it does come out, I would expect it to contain sufficient information to kick start a solid upward and sustained move in the share price. Gofish1
In reply to: sca69001 on Friday 29/02/08 09:58am And this February they get an extra day. Lets hope they can make it, and its worth a 4 year event.
diana
In reply to: Gofish1 on Friday 29/02/08 09:05am My understanding is that they run a very lean operation which is excellent under the circumstances. So if anyone misses a step for any reason then things will be late. The reality is, it will happen when it can and not before. Meanwhile, gold rocks on. Glad we didn't sell any cheap! http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/lmaosmiley.gif R/Di
sca69001
In reply to: diana on Friday 29/02/08 10:22am Tend to agree with everything you said Di except that GDR has tended to follow the old adage that it's better to underpromise and overdeliver when they are talking about gold and grades etc. Why would they announce reporting committments unless they were certain of achieving them. On the subject of gold, There was a very good interview on lateline business last night with Marc Faber, especially the last few minutes or so. http://www.abc.net.au/lateline/business/ Click the watch program button if watching today because they haven't archived it yet. Skip forward to the last half and try to ignore the presenters flapping near the end.
diana
In reply to: sca69001 on Friday 29/02/08 10:31am Thanks for that link Sca69001. You sound like a spy! Very interesting ... hmmm gold at $6000. I'll need a calculator with a bigger LCD to fit the numbers in at that. http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/tongue.gif Did you notice he referred to it being 2006. Is it an old clip or does the old fella just have a bit of fuzziness. R/Di
