Ruckmauler
In reply to: douce on Thursday 08/04/04 04:08pm Hi, Trading halt - does anyone think that this may have anything to do with the announcement by Indophil regarding a very positive court decsion in the Phillipines. Is Climax awaiting any similar decidions?
chinaski
The next Philippine mining development for an Australian Comp ?? Mining investment in the Philippines seems to be getting a lot of press these days ( positive for a change ) which should be maintained if LAF manage to pull off a successful commissioning. Climax's Dinkidi AU/CU project has the potential to be the next one in the pipeline for an Australian company. The BFS outcomes at current prices indicate a very healthy IRR and at more conservative prices still indicate a good return. The proposed project is long life ( 15 years ) with annual production of 150 000 ounces gold equiv. Finance and equity / offtake agreements are to be finalised this year. This project has had a few previous false starts but with the renewed Phil invest climate and current metals prices seems to have a good probability of proceeding. Jim Askew & Rob Thomson appear to be a credible team. The shareprice is getting knocked around with some tax loss selling at the moment - is this a good entry opportunity ??  All thoughts and comments appreciated. miningnut
In reply to: chinaski on Tuesday 14/06/05 11:44am Yes the Philippines govt approved the go-ahead of this project today which should give the sp a push tomorrow - good economics as it should earn at least $25mil pre-tax/pa - but how much share dilution will there be in the upcoming financing deal? paperclip
i'm in cmx today......................... on whispers of hugh upgrade of resourses. time will tell!
chinaski
Paperclip, Not sure about a resource upgrade ?? Dinkidi is already a great orebody - it is only a matter of time for it to be appreciated by the market.... or a predator. Oxiana have confirmed that they are looking at Phillipine corporate opportunities. CMX picked the eyes out of Phillipine exploration properties long before they became popular and have some excellent ground in addition to Dinkidi. Also, finance may be finalised.U can usually get some sense- tho of course, of the cautious kind, from Barry Wells in the Sydney office.
