farmer fred
In reply to: The Pro on Wednesday 21/01/09 01:29pm Certainly seems to be the pattern lately. Hope that target of hungry's at $41.50 is still intact.
redpencil
In reply to: farmer fred on Wednesday 21/01/09 02:34pm Totally agree. Inverse relationship between banks and CSL. Two steps forward, one step back, but $40 is not far away. Providing some comfort in an otherwise miserable market. Red
farmer fred
In reply to: redpencil on Wednesday 21/01/09 02:25pm Getting closer by the minute to that $40. Baxter quarterly results out tonight, might be worth keeping an eye on since its the closest rival to CSL in the US. It doesnt have the advantage of the falling dollar of course. farmer fred
BAX results out last night. 19% increase in earnings with most of the increase coming from the Bioscience business which includes the plasma derived products where CSL earns most of its income. CSL has the advantage of the weaker $Aus whereas BAX reported headwinds from the stronger $US. Should be positive for price today. http://www.baxter.com/about_baxter/news_ro...ndearnings.html

Idyll128
Good result right at the top end of market expectations, although you wouldn't believe that given the share price is currently down 2.8%.
