favshare
I can not believe you think the police have an "extreme lack of talent". Sting is one of the best musicians in the world. Period http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/grrr.gif
balance
In reply to: favshare on Monday 21/05/07 09:39am dont know about one of the worlds best.thats far and above my judgement given I've prob heard a small % of a % of them. But I do agree that he and the other Police are very very good players.Well respected in the industry too from what I hear. Skyhooks ? must be kidding.Broke many rules and pushed the limits with their image and they often sang about Australia. If someone doesnt like the songs that is different to poor material. Saw Shirl live once with another band .Did some Led Zep tracks.Wow.he could sing.
Varmi
Police was a unique 3 piece band, their music was influenced by reggae and punk rock. Stewart Copeland is a top drummer. My friend from University said that the drummer was awesome because he had all these syncopated rhythms that nobody else really did. Gave them a unique sound. The band worked on sudden tempo and time changes that left most bands in the dark ages. Unique pieces. eg- "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da" Also with balance with Skyhooks. http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/hypocrite.gif

wolverine
the police rocked, i can load em up any day of the week and it hasn't aged for me. kylie stunk at first but over the years her "show" clearly entertains a reasonable number of people. so whether we like it or not she has something that others wish they had be it charisma or tight buns. i don't get it but then again i can't sell out shows. Ben Harper is a favourite for me.
