michaelirish
In reply to: MasteR on Monday 10/04/06 11:09pm Hi guys. I am very bullish on FGL. (1) Suite of Beer products to be introduced to Europe in the wake of the agreement with S&N (2) Wine glut to befixed in two yrs (3) Well managed and focussed company
dawno
In reply to: ridgey on Monday 10/04/06 06:24pm Hi Ridgey - Sorry for late reply - been camping near the wineries for a break. No I'm not concerned because the market has already factored that in & also as though it will always be the case which is exactly the reason for my contrarian value view. I strongly believe that it will not always be the case so I see an opportunity to take the long term buy view. I would rather be buying FGL at current prices than to be investing in the resource sector now. dawno
In reply to: michaelirish on Monday 17/04/06 12:23pm Pleased to hear your view Mike - Whilst I am bullish too it is only on a long term basis I should stress. It is based on the fact that cycles on things we will always use will return to have their day & with FGL being a very big player in both beer & wine I like em - give them time & rewards will be handsome. dawno http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif

dawno
In reply to: MasteR on Monday 10/04/06 10:09pm Thanks MasteR for coming back - yep I have been visiting a few wineries over the last week on my camping break - I will make a point of calling at Red Clay Estate, Mudgee over next couple of weeks & let you know the result hey. I don't mind attracting any negative attention from my posts at all, in fact I invite it really. Nothing like a bit of a chat. Hoping to create constructive thinking I guess. I try to stick with the simple truth of my ideas (whether right or wrong) & so don't mind the feed back. I basically stick with the plan that I have etched out for myself over many years. I find it works well for me for the results that I seek. Of course I am not a trader so those that are going for the short term action won't like what I have to say. That doesn't mean they are wrong or right to have an alternate view as they may well have worked out something else for themselves. At the moment I do feel that the resosurce sector is for the traders only - I don't see them as a long term investments at current levels. Now FGL here is an opportunity for long term thinkers. I am sure there are a few good traders that profit OK, but mostly they are losers in time I suspect. When it comes to wine I only judge the wine - salesman flair or whatever doesn't get a mention when considering its merits. MasteR
In reply to: dawno on Tuesday 18/04/06 12:56am Goodness dawno, how much wine have you been buying ? FGL's SP has gone from $5.27 to $5.76 since you have been on your latest Wine March or do you call it a Wine Crawl ? Anyhow, whatever you call it FGL's SP has gone skyward. ridgey
In reply to: dawno on Monday 17/04/06 04:41pm Dawno, can't keep my fingers out the resources pot atm. Doubling bets in a short period is too hard to pass up. Will revisit the likes of FGL as soon as I get a whiff of problems in the resources sector. I understand what you are saying , but whilst a longer term player, its hard not to sell out of FGL and buy into any number of quality resources plays to double and return to FGL which has appreciated at best 10% The sell off of the Fosters brand was a big win, but the wine problem has some way to go yet.... and FGL is a wine play. Look at what they spent on Berringer and Southcorp. Because they have ready to drink lines as well(minnow) does not change the nature of the beast. But if you're happy...each to their own..thats why I went back to TLS!
dawno
In reply to: ridgey on Tuesday 25/04/06 05:58pm Hi Ridgey, fair enough I understand where you are coming from, whatever you are comfortable with. I don't mind saying that I too did handsomely out of the resource sector in recent times but I am now out of all of them for good profits. Remember 'straw hats in winter' & I will say no more on that except I haven't hesitated in placing some of my resource profits into FGL & TLS of late. I will not be investing into resource stock from now on until several years time or perhaps longer who knows. In the meantime I will be "phoning on my TLS phone my order into Fosters for another slab of the premium red wine". http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/lmaosmiley.gif dawno
