mme
Interesting that oil is the talk of the town now!! Talk of $100US and option contacts being sought at this level. Personally I think we'll go close or over. If you believe in the NWE story, the AED story or any other producing oil stocks near term or current producers, then yes it's worth a buy or hold!! Bear in mind it's more psychological, as US$100 is probably the equivalent of $80US in most currencies a year ago!! As I said earlier oil stocks presently account for 30% of my portfolio with gas an additional 20 or so %. Do the usual but remember what usually follows high oil prices in I think in 9 out of 10 cases??!!! Be warned that the music will stop. As Macca said and I agree, I thinking around 12 months time not taking into account unknown external influences. P.S. Not an expert and you didn't pay for this info so that's what it may be worth!!! Holding NWE. http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
King Baz
Hi all http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/cool.gif With regards to selling. If l had a chance (really), l would have provided a rationale (for the thread) of why l chose to sell a large parcel of shares (not just NWE). Mars, ead83 and other regulars on this thread can vouch for the intensity of my travels over recent months . . . (as discussed via PM's). I called the sell-off of the DOW (refer to Index, ASX200 Top, and SAU threads for reasons BEFORE THE SELL OFF). Given the massive sell-off on the DOW on friday night l am expecting the aussie market to get smashed, particularly speculative stocks. I'm going to loosen the purse strings for the first time in weeks http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif And yes, NWE is at the top of my list now that l can get in 20%+ cheaper. And for the 'sceptics' out there, l have a question for you! What have YOU contributed to NWE, the thread or SS? . . . stay cool. Time to get the mini-Mal out. strawberry
In reply to: King Baz on Sunday 05/08/07 03:23pm Hey Anne - great post - love the analogy of selling in comparison to buying.
nizar
In reply to: anne on Sunday 05/08/07 12:36pm QUOTE PS buying and selling are two very different experiences. Buying is a joyful experience; you are full of hope and want to share your good find with others. Selling is the opposite - it's like you are murdering your baby and your hopes. I know I feel rotten when I sell and terrified I have done the wrong thing. i just want to crawl into a hole and not talk about it. i certainly don't want to have to go on thankless forums and defend my action and then have to put up with the arguments. I also don't want to feel foolish if teh price keeps going up. Woudnt you also feel foolish if your "good find" tanks after you buy in? I certainly would -- unless of course, you are a permabull, in which case you load up the truck with "cheapies" http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/tongue.gif
wmd
junior Oil/gas company with small maket cap about to receive huge royalty payments with a portfolio of 2008 (2007 ?) drills....i know it's been discussed before but if anyone was sliding the ruler over NWE as a takeover target, perhaps now would be a good time. Gum Nut
In reply to: King Baz on Sunday 05/08/07 03:23pm KB, No need to justify just thanks for quality input. Unfortunately my reading of market was not as astute as your assessment. Seems I have bought back in a few days too early - bugger. Since I am never wrong, then it must be your fault .....http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif Good luck GN
