Well i'll take this opportunity to introduce myself in this thread.

Being my first post and being somwhere between an amature to intermediate share trader/investor, i look forward to sharing my opinions, ideas and experiences with fellow forum members and i hope to learn off the more experienced members here and welcome your guidence and thoughts. However i am aware that everybody does have an agenda so don't take me as being persuadable...

My trading experiences over the last few years have expectedly been of good and bad... however i can say that the stocks i made losses on would have made me alot of money if it wasn't for other external reasons that i had to sell at the wrong time.

For instance... the bad...

i owned ALL with an entry around 1.40... look where they are now...I was forced to sell when they dropped significantly as i had to commit to another external investment...

i owned GAP (Gale Pacific) with an entry around 1.80.... pretty much broke even when i had to sell for same reason above..

there is a positive in all this and that is that if i was able to hold these stocks for the intended period, i would have made allot of money and it showed me that stock selection wasn't a problem.

there have been several other losses experienced but these were the significant ones i guess.

the good...

some of my very first successful trades came in the tech boom where i think any monkey would've made money..

my money was made on ECP (Ecorp) a packer company.. bought it for around 1.70... sold it for around $7...

Made nice money on Optus and Austar in the same period...

More recently, a nice experience with an internet security company called SecureNet (SNX) bought on average price of 80c, company was taken over and paid near 1.60 from memory.. so they were my large wins.

So currently i hold....

ARC Energy (ARQ)

Lafayette Mining (LAF)

NEXUS Energy (NXS)

Polartechnics (PLT)

As you can see quite overweight some might think in the resource sector.. but i think it's a good selection of stock and i'm extremely happy with my entry... except for PLT where i'm sure many are down considering recent company announcements regarding Mr Grey and the American deal falling through.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Just inspired me so submit my first post. I have dabbled in shares and until recently made a little bit of money here and there but this financial year has seen me sell off some real dogs and I am currently sitting on quite a loss.

I am interested in learing TA and will be doing so over the next couple of years in an attempt to learn enough so that I could possibly trade the market for a living.

Currently holding IAG (bought for the dividend and will be looking for a rise and then selling)

Other than that I am stuck with some BDL shares. Possibly the dumbest investment decision I have ever made.

Looking forward to submitting my thoughts on shares and my current buys and sells

Greetings

Decided to wander around this forum as it was suggested by a friend [does he get a free gift...only joking http://www.ShareScene.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif ]

Anyway as I just joined thought I may as well make my 'first post.' Although normally I am the shy retiring type http://www.ShareScene.com/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

I am a tad busy atm so will not bore everyone with my trading tactics and experience...

Happy Trading

Z

ps It sure has been a great time to trade.... http://www.ShareScene.com/html/emoticons/cool.gif

Gday Z, im sure all the readers will love to hear anything a legend on the game such as yourself has to offer.

Word of warning to newbies tho, this guy has the eagle eye and trades with such precision and speed, it could be detrimental to even attempt to copy him. http://www.ShareScene.com/html/emoticons/weirdsmiley.gif

Yep, a great time to trade alright http://www.ShareScene.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif

I have been lurking around different forums for a while trying to work out how people choose the stocks they invest in.

I have found ShareScene to be the most friendliest and most well laid of all the forums I have looked at and also the people who post here seem to know what they are talking about and usually back up what they are saying with some useful information.

Most of the stocks I have bought have been recommendations from Fatprophets, but I am hoping to be able to learn something from all the lurking I have been doing here.

I think I am like a lot of other people who have never posted. I always think that I have nothing to contribute and don't know enough to be able to say why I like a certain company. Maybe I should just ask for an opinion on a share that I have looked at and which I think might make me some money.

Looking forward to making some money on shares that I have chosen this year.
