Yep Quicks had a read & there you go - so on the day SOT weakened a little & TLS went up a little on the announcement. The market reacts indifferently........???

I think Telstra's CEO Sol Trujillo has put a dampener on this sector with his famous public statement about not recommending shares to his mother or, mother-in-law, or, someone!!!

 

Sentiment will change though. Just a thought.

Hi there L.C. & Quicks - Yeah it was the TLS Group Managing Director

Public Policy & Communications Mr Phil (just call me fats) Burgess that said it from memory.

I have no doubt that the sentiment will change, that much I am positive about, however its the when that is anybody's guess - in the meantime long term investors will do alright in both TLS & SOT. There is more to SOT than simple telco tabs. The market will see this when momentum evolves & sentiment gets annalysts back into the sector to have a geek.

It can only be positive to see PPT having a large slice og SOT - they are great investors & know a bargain when they see it. PPT is also basically a long term investor too in general terms of their basic policy strategy.

Nice article on page 16 of today's AFR.

 

Talks about the alliance between Soul and Optus announced yesterday.

 

Seems to be giving Telstra the big heave ho IMHO.

Pitty we got slammed by TEL's poor result on Friday... Yet another 52 week low for SOT.

 

Was some interesting comments in the TEL media release re consolidation in the sector. That to me says that takeovers/mergers are on the cards. Wouldn't surprise me at all with Telco stocks so depressed ATM.

How long will you hang onto it? What does your T/A say?? What has it been saying, since it was up around the $1.52cps level??

No good buying them for .79cps in the morning, if they can get down around the .75cps mark, is it?
