blacksheep
Battery power promises to re-energize Endicott manufacturing eff Platsky, Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin Published 5:58 p.m. ET July 23, 2018 | Updated 6:01 p.m. ET July 23, 2018 Shailesh Upreti is determined to re-energize manufacturing at a site that long served as IBM Corp.'s Endicott production hub. His plan: Have more than 1,800 people producing lithium-ion batteries within the next eight years. From a small start ÃÆâ€â„¢ÃƒÆ’ƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚¢ÃƒÆ’¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢â€š¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¬ÃƒÆ’…¡Ãƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚¬ÃƒÆ’¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚¬Ãƒâ€¦Ã‚¡ÃƒÆ’‚¬Ãƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚ 230 employed by 2021 ÃÆâ€â„¢ÃƒÆ’ƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚¢ÃƒÆ’¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢â€š¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¬ÃƒÆ’…¡Ãƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚¬ÃƒÆ’¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚¬Ãƒâ€¦Ã‚¡ÃƒÆ’‚¬Ãƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚ and proving his patented battery technology, he believes he can develop one of the nation's leading green lithium-ion production facilities stateside, and then use the footprint to expand to India, the Middle East and Europe. By 2025, he believes his Imperium3 consortium can be among the leading suppliers of batteries for electric cars and electric storage for sustainable energy producers. "The DNA will be developed here, and ultimately it will be harvested in many jurisdictions," Upreti said in a project update to about 50 people attending a late Monday afternoon meeting of Endicott Strong, a community group dedicated to rehabilitating the community that grew and flourished in the heyday of IBM and Endicott Johnson but has suffered with the decline of both. Among his believers are some Fortune 500 companies: Siemens, Eastman Kodak and Magnis Resources Ltd., the owner of the second-largest graphite mine in Africa. "Why New York? Why not New York?" he responded when asked about his robust plan to expand his locate his manufacturing hub in Endicott. The state has the technical infrastructure, the talent and is ground zero for the developing market for lithium-ion energy storage. Endicott production was fast-tracked earlier this year when the company bought the entire contents of the former Alevo battery plant in Concord, North Carolina, for pennies on the dollar and moved the entire operation to Endicott. Published reports indicated Imperium3 acquired $200 million worth of assets for $5 million in a bankruptcy auction. Upreti said 90 percent of the acquired equipment has been relocated to the Huron campus in Endicott. Last month, Queensland, Australia committed more than $2 million to assist Imperium3 in building a sister plant in Townsville. https://www.pressconnects.com/story/money/2...cott/819073002/
blacksheep
A video of the Endicott presentation @ 00:34 shows a slide of global partnerships - Australia, New York, Europe, India - the last one is not clearly visible but could read Middle East http://www.wicz.com/story/38710498/imperiu...obs-to-endicott Strategic investors - As a result, potential investors, both domestic and international, are now undertaking various forms of due diligence with a view to making an investment in Magnis. Cornerstone investments form part of this interest. Discussions are progressing well and the Company is aiming to be in a position to announce a definitive investment this quarter Issue of MNS shares in return for investment dollars will mean no need for a CR in the near future, although some dilution to current shareholders. If these "strategic investors" are household names, dilution won't be an issue. Battery plants - Magnis and its technology partner Charge CCCV(C4V), have been exploring opportunities to develop battery plants in countries to add to the three plants planned in Australia, the United States and Germany. Discussions are ongoing and at least one new agreement is expected to be announced this calendar half year. Next one could be India? Regional office opening and consideration for dual listing - Recent engagement with large Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), potential strategic investors and fund managers regarding MagnisÃÆâ€â„¢ÃƒÆ’ƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚¢ÃƒÆ’¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢â€š¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¬ÃƒÆ’…¡Ãƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚¬ÃƒÆ’¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢â€š¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¬ÃƒÆ’…¾Ãƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚¢ growth strategy and prospects, has confirmed the imperative to access greater capital pools and funding to scale up its network of battery plants. In some of the markets that Magnis is assessing, there is greater knowledge of lithium-ion battery manufacturers, stronger valuations and a better understanding of the market dynamics. Regional office/listing in NY or Germany? Proposed name change - Imperium3 or something else? Not quite enough to get the market excited ATM - need to get the names/detail out there of the "strategic investors" - but looks like that could happen during this quarter.
