only positive comment i've seen today.

UBS analyst Michael Peet yesterday described speculation over the stability of the bid on the grounds of Wesfarmers' share price as unfounded and an overreaction.

"There are many examples of successful scrip bids following a similar path before moving up as the deal nears completion," he said, citing the mergers of Tattersalls and Unitab, Suncorp and Promina, and the Australian Stock Exchange and Sydney Futures Exchange.

I must profess my ignorance, but I thought the takeover was done. That Westfarmers had takenover CML, hence the CGL. Where is it at? Is Coles part of WES? If not does the clause whatever in the takeover about the SP dropping look like coming into effect?

Please pardon my ignorance, but I haven't been following this.

no johny, coles {CGJ} has accept the bid from WES. with little bit cash plus some of wes shares. when deal announced, WES is traded at $46, that made CGJ at about $17.50.

today, WES closed at $38?? that make CGJ worth about $14.50 but CGJ closed at $13.88.

market think deal might collapse because of the value of the bid.

now johny baby, if you can tell me deal will go through finaly or not then you will get my vote. http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/lmaosmiley.gif

thanks early birds. From what you are saying it doesn't look like the bid will go through. I might track CGJ for a while. See what happens. I think it is ripe for takeover though.

BTW, Whats wrong with my name? I could pick another, but then it would be an alias. Don't like alias's.
