Carsha
Actually KB holds heaps of FAR and in fact hes in the top20!! Thats why I am surprised the large targets of senegal didn't get mentioned. There high potential company making targets from what I hear, certainly will fit into this thread .... http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif CS
Carsha
From the austin exploration website AKK.... Yorketown Prospect (PEL 73) STANSBURY BASIN, SOUTH AUSTRALIA The Yorketown Prospect lies within PEL 73 and is located west across the Gulf of St. Vincent (96 km) from Adelaide. Positioned onshore and now ready to drill, the Yorketown Prospect is the largest single on-shore oil prospect ever generated on ÃÆâ€â„¢ÃƒÆ’ƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚¢ÃƒÆ’¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢â€š¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¬ÃƒÆ’…¡Ãƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚¬ÃƒÆ’â€Â¹Ãƒƒâ€Â¦ÃƒÆ’¢Ã¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚¬Ãƒâ€¦Ã¢â‚¬Å“Continental AustraliaÃÆâ€â„¢ÃƒÆ’ƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚¢ÃƒÆ’¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢â€š¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¬ÃƒÆ’…¡Ãƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚¬ÃƒÆ’¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢Ã¢â€š¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¬ÃƒÆ’…¾Ãƒâہ¡ÃƒÆ’‚¢ (estimated recoverable 788 million barrels of oil and 315 bcf of gas). Austin Exploration will have a 1/6th working interest in PEL 73. AKK new on the scene and yet to be involved in any drilling. Sp is up 6c odd from the ipo price of 20c. Vilmac
In reply to: doctorj on Saturday 26/08/06 08:47pm Doc, I agree. Mate of mine has been trying to sell me on RRS, but something smells wrong. Probably can make money as day trader but not long term investment. Bunch of wackos running the country. How can you trust them to make binding commercial decisions???? robjb5
In reply to: vilmac on Sunday 27/08/06 10:17pm Not only are they a bunch of 'wackos', but the supoosedly legit. govt. is in exile in the U.K. and if ever returned to government would be almost guaranteed to overturn any previously established agreements... http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/thumbdown.gif
mme
Depends what you class as high risk/reward. Would of thought FAR/HZN are up the scale a bit with the recent find and future prospects. Really these two stocks will do their stuff once the final figures come in. It would be nice around the 80-100 million mark!!! The problem is that especially with FAR and all the hype it got, impatients shareholders jumped ship wanting a quick buck. The patient will be rewarded IMO. Now my choice is BOW. If you need convincing as to why I like this then go to the website and read the presentations, have a look at management etc. Seek pro advice before buying or selling. http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Carsha
Yes have to agree, guess you could look at it two ways, small caps that are chasing huge targets (FAR Senegal) with huge rewards but not so much downside. Then stocks like GDN which really they need golden eagle to be a commercial find or down goes the sp.... Lets leave the discussion boundries open and see what research comes in http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/cool.gif CS
King Baz
In reply to: mme on Monday 28/08/06 10:01am FAR has been my favourite stock on the ASX for a while now http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Absolutely it has some excellent exploration acreage . . . targeting > 1bbo recoverable, numerous 150mmbo+ targets, existing 2d seismic, 3d-seismic commencing in Dec . . . High-return potential, but not high risk! http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/tongue.gif
mme
Yep have to agree KB. FAR and HZN IMO will reward those prepared to wait. Like you easy for me to say this as I am in substantial profit on both. Interesting 60 minutes program on oil last night. Talk of $2 a litre by Xmas. http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
annaliese
In reply to: Carsha on Monday 28/08/06 12:07pm Carsha I'm not sure of your time frame but Petsec is worth a look. At $2.60 it is fundamentally cheap and will probably remain so while we are in the heart of the hurricane season (August/September). But I would expect a significant rerating as the cane season fades and the following events unfold; Beibu Gulf reserves are announced, implications for Beibu Gulf prospects, Q4 drilling at Mobile, Moonshine and Vermilion, market works out the implications of this months trebling of GOM acreage. We might see some activity next week when the company presents at the Good Oil Conference though for now the cane season tends to make buyers sit on their hands....excellent buying op for contrary investors.
