In reply to: ty.webb on Thursday 07/07/05 02:23pm QUOTE Even with a 50/50 probability assignment to the event that it will win the contract alluded to on June 9, 27c represents somewhat of a bargain. Any thoughts as to what price the stock would fall to if the deal doesn't eventuate ? I think todays announcement was just a follow up from the announcement on April 27th, can you confirm the locations of the prisons on both announcements ? I'm pretty sure BQT would have clearly pointed out that it was an extra two prisons on top of the two that they won in April, if that was the case. Comments ?

  9. In reply to: datum on Tuesday 05/07/05 01:10am Given that the shareprice touched $1.45 on the day of the Techno announcement and is now trading at 70c, you'd have to say that the market has already decided that the deal won't come to fruition. I find it hard to believe that Jonathan Soon would try to deceive the market with this announcement, but that is exactly what the market is saying IMHO. It's important to remember that this deal would be a company maker,..........but not a breaker, the company's market cap is only $8.4 million...............the profit on the Russian deal alone is projected at $7.4 million. Given the current share price, the techno deal can only be seen as a bonus if they can pull it off. Tex.

QUOTE I thought that no one would have noticed I'm sure that any one who watched they game would have noticed............my first thought was LC is heading for legend status if he pots it http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/laughingsmiley.gif Maybe LOK will take care of that for you,.........the depth looks the best I've seen it for a long time. Getting back to "the greatest game of all", I wasn't too dissapointed to see the Dragons lose to the Tigers last week, some times a team can have a white-hot performance, and the tigers have had some good wins this year. It should be a good game between Manly and Tigers, but Manly are missing a few of their key players due to origin........so I've gone for the tigers on the NRL tipping comp.

  13. In reply to: MasteR on Thursday 23/06/05 07:14pm I've been watching these for quite a while, in-fact I put them in as one of my 5 stock picks for the 2005 comp. I see that one of the directors has been buying, but I'd like to see if their financials are showing signs of improvement before buying any stock. It has not been a friendly stock since May 2002, and looks to be still in a down trend. 90c has been it's long term support, but the price of oil has clearly had a major impact on their earnings, it remains to be seen if they can pass these costs onto their clients. I guess the director has a better idea about the cashflow than the rest of us http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif Tex.
  14. The whisper is some thing will happen in Mid July (approx 3 weeks). If this whisper from the private sector is correct, we are going to be very happy. Orion Gateway appears to be looking for a quick way to become a public company. One possible way to do this would be to inject a large amount of capital into SKG in return for enough shares to become the contolling shareholder (also know as a reverse take-over). If Orion was considering this, it would be in their interests to cap the current shareprice for as long as they can (which is not difficult given the current liquidity of the stock). This is all just speculation, but it may be worth having a look at e-pay and doing some numbers. It's possible we could all be share holders of e-pay by the end of August ;-) Orion Gateway already owns 13% of SKG and they are rumoured to be going into China in a big way. With Revenues coming in from the e-pay operation, it's a fair bet that the planned home-Automation expansion into europe and Asia would be done with ease http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif P.s. Note the word "strategic" in the text below. SYDNEY 27th July, 2004 SkyNetGlobal (ASX: SKG), today announced that the company has formed a strategic partnership with Orion Gateway Pty Ltd. Under the terms of the partnership, Orion Gateway will invest $1.6 million in cash into SkyNetGlobal for a 13% strategic stake and in addition provide up to 50% of any funding required to expand W Home into selected countries overseas. ABOUT ORION GATEWAY & SIMON LOH Orion Gateway is a private investment company own by Simon Loh. Mr Loh, aged 42, is the Founder and Managing Director of e-pay (M) Sdn Bhd, of e-pay Gateway Sdn Bhd and Director of e-pay Indonesia, the No.1 electronic prepaid payment gateway for mobile and internet recharge services in Malaysia and Indonesia. e-pay Malaysia group generates A$200 million in annual revenues and is in the process of expanding its operations across Asia. Mr Loh is also co-founder of e-pay Australia. e-pay Australia has 35% market share of the prepaid payment business for mobile and internet recharge in Australia. 15. QUOTE (Mission X @ Friday 17/06/05 08:37am) Hi X I have replied to your email. Well done with LHG mate (you're da man) ! Quite a few stocks have come out of the March-April-May dip, but are yet to reach their previous highs of last year. my feeling is we will see another sustained downward movement in most stocks over the next 12 months, because we are at the top of the economic cycle. The economy is still very strong in Queensland, but it's very hard to expand when you can't get the labour. We are basicly naming our price atm, and it makes me wonder how long the economy can bear this burden. I'm not sure how this converts to LHG, but I guess it doesn't matter now that you're out http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif In regards to other posters from HC, let's just say that you reep what you sow. I don't think he'd be very welcome in many of the old Looksmarter's homes. I think you'll do very well with BHP, but I don't see OST performing as well (long term), mainly because one supplies Iron ore and the other consumes it. OST is dependent on the building industry, where-as BHP has many other avenues of income. Keep up the good work http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Tex.

The odds on offer are also fairly poor, so I've had to take a punt that Manly will hammer the Knights to get the prize money up a little. Balance, You're being to hard on Gasnier...........I guess he thought he'd get around Billy http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif P.s. Sorry Coop, the tickets have gone mate. Have a good weekend all.
  19. Had you asked a bit earlier Coop I would have been able to get you some, one of our office staff got us tickets through his dad, I'll ask him tomorrow if he can swing it but I think they're gone. Pretty hard to get hold of now that it's a decider ! Johns played very well, King played very well, but the greatest moment for me was watching Gaznier put his foot down and take on Slater............it was amazing to see how confident he was, and when Billy did catch him he threw a beautiful pass to Cooper which resulted in a classic try. The only blues player to have a bad game was Fitzgibon, a bit too much drop ball that gave Queensland a sniff, but as a rule he's always been a solid player. I felt a bit sorry for the margin betters..........the ones that took 13+ were in the money until the last 30 seconds, when Queensland brought it back to a 10 point loss. I was happy with my short odds, I think conservative punting options will always serve you better at the end of the day. Can't wait for the decider http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif

I think this is the deal guys. (1) UK company. (2) 12 month roll out (as mention in the BQT announcement) (3) Cash Passport cards (similar to what BQT do) (4) BQT say that this product will bring major benifits to the global financial community. The rampers on HC wont comment on it, but all the pieces seem to fit. The strange thing is, this technology is not new so why would BQT get $9.5 million for it ? http://www.thecouriermail.news.com.au/comm...55E3122,00.html INTERNATIONAL currency specialist Travelex plans a concerted expansion program in Australasia over the next 12 months – including a landmark deal with the Bank of Queensland – following a record profit for its December 2004 year. The group – which is best known for its retail foreign exchange services (travellers cheques and the like) – is targeting the corporate sector as its prime area of growth. While Travelex kiosks may be the most visible face of the London-based group, it is commercial management of foreign exchange and outsourcing of retail forex that provides it with the best opportunity for growth. Australasian and Japan managing director Martin Crawford said yesterday that although the "travel money" segment made up more than half of the group's revenue base, commercial foreign exchange was by far the most profitable. In its December year, the Australian operations recorded a net profit of $13.76 million, up 64 per cent on the previous year. In Australia, Mr Crawford says the group has enormous opportunity in outsourcing forex services for other financial institutions. Travelex is in "advanced" stages of a deal to supply travel money services through the Bank of Queensland branch network on the eastern seaboard, he says. The deal would see Travelex establish special foreign exchange/travel money desks at larger Bank of Queensland branches, which are presently not renowned as first port of call for those seeking seeking travel money services. The products to be offered through BoQ branches would include travellers cheques, foreign currency exchange and Travelex's Cash Passport cards (rechargeable debit cards usable at most international ATMs. American Express has a similar arrangement with Westpac. Mr Crawford says the Bank of Queensland deal marks the next step from the outsourcing of travel money services Travelex already provides to banks and building societies, In the UK, the company dominates the outsourced retail foreign exchange market with agreements with companies such as Barclays and NatWest. "One of our primary goals is to expand our outsourcing business and do business with one or more of the big four banks. "The second goal is to expand our corporate foreign exchange." In Australia Mr Crawford estimates Travelex already has about 12 per cent of the SME ($5 million to $20 million turnover) market, and sees great opportunity in the mid-cap sector.
  22. In reply to: stone pony on Wednesday 15/06/05 06:38pm There's big money on offer for that call. Queensland had to kick three penalty goals, and two feild goals just to stay in the game on their home turf. Anything can happen in a game at this level, but IF IF IF johns plays well, it will be a slaughter. In Johns we trust http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Tex.
  23. QUOTE (AgentCooper @ Wednesday 15/06/05 05:05pm) Coop I love reading your posts, you don't mince words........... http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/icon13.gif I was at the first game (in a blues jumper) and copped heaps of flack until NSW were in front by 1 point (you could have heard a pin drop), by that time I'd had a few xxxx golds and started giving a bit of pay-back to the throngs of toads, however that was short lived and I was paid back two-fold when QLD got the golden try ! Right through the game, all I was thinking was GET KIMORLEY OFF http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/grrr.gif He is hot and cold, and decided to start his cold run in game bloody one ! I agree 100% with you, Kimorley is NOT a state or Origin player. However I would feel better if Gower or Orford was playing tonight; You could be right "there are players and there are origin players" Johns is a great player, but I feel that it is a gamble playing him so early after injury. The principle concept of Origin is to select the Australian team, but that didn't stop Bennet from bringing Alfie back did it ! I'm just not sure if it will be the same fairytale for Johns (but I hope so). My feeling is Orford should have been selected, but some times experience is worth more than youth. I agree that Gower will not play Origin again, but he's a very tough player and does have talent. You can't say that NSW picked Johns on form, because Newcastle haven't one a game this year ! But on the other side of the coin it's hard to imagine Johns playing worse than Kimorley, and you have to back the judgement of Ricky Stuart. I'm with you, I don't mind seeing NSW lose if they give it their all. I'm looking forward to seeing the Web and Bailey clash ! Tex.
  24. In reply to: Reader on Wednesday 15/06/05 04:42pm Reader My wife and I went to a wedding in Perth years ago when the super leauge war was in full swing. At the time Perth had a team called the "western reds" and we went to watch a night game at the waca. I couldn't believe it at the time, but I had to sit up until 3 am to watch one of the origin games even though they had a big crowd at the local game ! Now I ask you.............even if you don't follow league, isn't State Of Origin one of the greatest sporting specticals in the world !!!! It's right up there with the Melbourne cup http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif Tex.
  25. balance Many people ask me that question. The answer is I was born in Queensland and played the game from the day I could walk, but my parents moved to NSW 25 years ago when I was 15, so I grew up watching the origin series with my mates who were all roaches. I now live in Queensland and I love the state, but I grew up hating Wally Lewis (but not the way he played). I couldn't turn my back on the mighty blues if I wanted to, the concept and rivalry is in my blood. My feeling is, once you've picked a team........that's it FOR life ! Which is why I have endured the highs and lows of following St George for so long http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Tex.
