  1. Still looking for a trade. The SPI keeps on making new lows while the ASX XJO200 is just floating aroud parity of yesterday's close. Have to give it a bit longer to decide which way to go.
  2. In reply to: jaolsa on Friday 22/06/07 11:13pm Bond yields and oil = shorts at the moment. Still holding XJO shorts.
  3. In reply to: jaolsa on Friday 22/06/07 08:30pm Jaolsa I think you get these but I thought this report was worthy of the current conditions http://www.stocktiming.com/Thursday-DailyMarketUpdate.htm Cheers
  4. QUOTE (jaolsa @ Friday 22/06/07 06:05pm) It's only early but we could have a bit of a sell off tonight. There is no economic news to pull the US futures up so if the bond yield increases and we get a bit of a spike in oil tonight we could see some downward pressure. I'm currently short. Had a crapola day today, went long and held on too long, then went short and got squezzed http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif
  5. Been a while since I've posted. Went short this morning about 30 min from the open, closed out at a loss (11 points), went long and got 36 points on the run up. Closed out and called it a day, didn't bother chasing it back down. Still scalping as per the daily trends as I'm not sure which way we're heading at the moment. 100% cash except for daily scalps and the odd overnight position held. Plenty of volotility intraday for those who are willing to sit in front of the screen and chase it. Cheers
  6. Waiting for industrial production numbers now, I hope its not too strong as it may dampen the run up from the CPI figures. Not getting too excited yet but we have got some catching up to do on XJO, still hold long XJO. http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/lmaosmiley.gif I need one of those dancing banana smileys LOL
  7. Yep the Chinese have a habbit of announcing monetory policy on the weekend. I'm long at the moment and at this stage plan to stay that way over the weekend. If all goes well close out Monday/ Tuesday and start setting some shorts. If it tanks over the weekend well so be it, I've been waiting for it to tank for a while now. Anyone for an afternoon rally http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/devilsmiley.gif
  8. US futures have now undone DOW back to +15. I still think it could go either way tonight. I want it to tank but I don't think it will, the core PPI figure wasn't bad enough. The core really needed to be .3 to get the inflation nervous nellies going. Still waiting for my day in the sun for that major tank of a 2-3% selloff. Oh well guess I'm going to have to keep scalping some more for the time being http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/cool.gif
  9. QUOTE (early birds @ Thursday 14/06/07 09:59pm) PPI was up a bit higher than expected .9 and core .2 US futures down a tad from highs, still being digested I suppose. It will be interesting to see what happens 10YR TBonds falling yield up 5.24%
  10. Its going to be interesting to see how it pans out tonight. Metals down but off their lows, oil down a tad, gold down. Lehman put out a super strong result and the Euro markets seemed to rally on that. After a blip upwards the US futures haven't followed and are still well down. Maybe the result was 'too strong' given the interest rate nerves. SPI well down at the moment. I'm currently short on SPI and would love to see another sell down tonight. Knowing my luck its that early at the moment the futures will rally, metals will recover and the market will bounce and I'll be in the red when I wake up http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/wacko.gif Jaolsa I know what you mean about the kids, my 4 year old spewed up all over the couch Friday afternoon. By the time I cleaned up the mess and put her in the bath my XJO put had fallen off a cliff. Oh well another down night tonight and I'll be able to close it out nicely. Cheers
  11. Still plenty of buying support.
  12. QUOTE (King Baz @ Thursday 07/06/07 11:13am) Good call King http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/cool.gif
  13. In reply to: romaioi on Wednesday 06/06/07 04:32pm Plenty of time on my hands at the moment. I gave up work 6 weeks ago to trade fulltime, moonlighting as Mr Mum trading fulltime during the day. I've been an active investor for 12 years now and feel comfortable enough to go out on my own. The last few weeks have just been intraday and overnight scalping waiting for a pull back to enter the market. Happy trading http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
  14. Reasonable day today, went short on XJO at the open and picked 42 points on the downside. But made a mistake at the open by also going long on OXR on takeover speculation, closed out at a loss which wiped out two thirds of the money made from XJO short http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/weirdsmiley.gif Came home with a 12 point long on the XJO so all in all a reasonable day but as always could have been better. Happy trading Cheers http://www.sharescene.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif

In reply to: jaolsa on Wednesday 06/06/07 12:01am Stabalising now, I think the US really needs to go lower i.e finish down at least 1% to start a correction, otherwise its just going to be treated as a buy on the dips here tomorrow. Night all Cheers
