Really positive write-up about biotechs (including a lively spiel on BTA) in today's (6 January) Australian Financial Review. Sorry, no link; subscription only (or the 'old-fashioned', printed version...).

So the contention is that it'll go under $2.50? And, unlike a term deposit, one can always sell into a spike; sell put options or covered calls; warrants for leverage - I still can't see what's my risk for the next approx. 16 months? I have / holding a number of all of those thingies mentioned above.

Call me simple-minded if you like, but I just simply can't see why TLS is being so negatively rated. Where else one can get an approx. 12% guaranteed return on one's funds? It is even better (and a lot less risky) than 2nd mortgage lending. Why is this fact being considered as a problem? Whomever been accumulating, their average price is certainly should be only around the $3 mark (bare presumption!), so why is this being perceived as a problem? To me it seems like a 'lay-down misere' opportunity. Some shares are for trading, some for income, some for a short-term, some for a long-term. Whereabouts TLS doesn't fit into this picture? I'm quite happy to receive fully franked dividends twice a year, thank you.

The comedian, TIM VINE has won a prize for the funniest joke in this year's Edinborough Fringe. His winning one-liner: "I've just been on a once-in-a-lifetime holiday. I'll tell you what, never again." Here are a few more of the top finishers: EMO PHILIPS - "I picked up a hitch-hiker. You've got to when you hit them." JACK WHITEHALL - "I bought one of those anti-bullying wristbands when they first came out. I say 'bought'. I actually stole it off a short, fat ginger kid." GARY DELANEY - "As a kid I was made to walk the plank. We couldn't afford a dog."

Yes. I won't vote. The detailed bios didn't impress me the least and we can rest assured that Mr Drona is as good as gone. My itsi-bitsi voting stake wouldn't mean much anyhow.

It's been a very long wait between drinks, especially for someone like me, who got the shares in 2007. Need I say more?!
-
Whereas I totally agree with the removal of Mr Drona, I certainly am not sure about the abilities of the two directors who are being slated to replace the incumbents. So I'll do what I think it's right and I won't vote...

It's from Groucho Marx - Groucho Marx famously said: "Sincerity - if you can fake that you've got it made."

We must be totally corrupted now if we can consider it wrong that there was no suspicious or insider trading in a company that received an - any - offer. Pretty sad I must say.

In my opinion one always gets what one pays for. If one pays nothing, one could expect nothing in return....

If I may ask - who is providing you with wireless connection for FREE?
-
OK! Thanks for the advice, of course I will do as you say. Of course in the meantime I would give up on a fully franked dividend yield of almost 19% (at current prices), TLS' dominance in 3G wireless services and the great need of the copper-cable network to a lot of other services than the delivery of house-hold fixed lines. {Lots of other positives to which I don't need to go into - along, as with most companies, the well-known negatives.} I'm sure it's a great feeling to be so sure of oneself...
