  1. Mags your arguments are baseless.... to claim that nothing has changed in the last 13 years, even got better shows you have done no homework. And Mork it easy to grab stuff off the internet, that article had no hard facts in it and was pretty useless. The climate models are not perfect, no forecasting ever is.... however they have in general been underforecasting global temperature rise. Why ? They had not taken into account that a lot of ice in the northern hemisphere is now grey/black due to your beloved carbon Mags covering it and increasing the albedo.... melting the ice more rapidly.
  2. You have his frequent flyer print out ?
  3. Never said that... I openly admit I need to make more changes too. The wealthier one is, the easier it is to change and basic psychology shows that anyone that is not comfortable financially will not give a shit about climate change.... they have bigger problems to deal with to get through day by day. This is why I it is important for Australia, A Wealthy Country, to start taking the lead and not keep saying we are less than 1% of the world so what can we do. It is very important for countries who are well off to use technology, science and our diverse mineral wealth to be at global forums and discussions. I am just a middle class nobody, but perhaps people like Andrew Forrest, Bill Gates (Al Gore certainly did) do think how their efforts may make positive change to a better world. FMG starting to move into hydrogen may turn out to be a good example of this. At the very least, its way too late to be denying the existence of climate change now.
  4. Well I certainly won;t disagree with you about the rich getting richer and the poor get the picture and the dodgy games that go on behind the scenes. However I absolutely disagree with you on climate change, it is already well in Australia's top 5 problems without a doubt. This problem has exponentially grown for a few decades now and you deniers are asleep at the wheel. We wont argue over it, I knew all about it well before Al Gore pitched in with his spot on movie. Meteorology is my field of expertise and 99.99% of us are all very worried. Your future generations are about to suffer immeasurably unless you all wake up and change, which is very hard for most folks to do.
  5. Australia is getting upset with the CCP's bullying which it should........ however I thought it was great when they went to ban our coal exports. Now our taxes are being used to send coal to India https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-12-16/futu...roject/12984734 But one only needs to look at the big picture https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-12-16/arct...s/12961584?nw=0 to see that Australia is one of the worst global citizens on the planet. We are being excluded from global climate change conferences and will be excluded from many other forums in the future if we dont change our ways right now. The Labor party say they are going to try to help stop climate change, yet it is one of their politicians who are bending over backwards to Adani (see future fund article above). It doesn't matter which side of the fence you sit on in Australian politics, they are both leading the country to a place where we wont be involved in future global decision making. Our country will deserve lots of bullying from many nations in the future... especially from our low lying Pacific neighbours. Byron Bay beachgoers might join in too, now that they have just lost most of their beach.... let alone all the bushfire victims from last summer.

Despite announcing a retail offer of 1 for every 8.5 shares at $4.60 today, the share price flies up over $6. Given that I just bought a chunk a few days ago that rocks my boat Nipper ! Market must like the lithium announcement.... doesn't hurt that the nickel and copper price both surged last night too.... building further on their steep climb to the peak of Everest. Bring on the clean energy !
  7. OK cool Mork, we think alike. Was just rrying to point out to anyone that has even no consideration for the environment, that economically nuclear doesn't even comes close to being viable. Any govt that pushes this barrow is well..... certifiable
  8. Only the certified insane would invest in nuclear.... 2nd most expensive energy after geothermal (unless you live in NZ) France is a ticking time bomb.... with a reluctance to decommission out of date reactors due to the costs (it is cheaper to keep them running).Good luck if you want one of those in your neighbourhood, give me some solar panels anyday. Batteries are stabilising grids and going to smaller closed circuit grids will be the way of the future..... which your government is trying to convince you not to have so they can reap more taxes. Start reading Mork, here is a starter for you https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_power_in_France

Charts are looking very scary for gold stocks PRU, SLR, RMS, EVN are all facing a 50-200 dma death cross ... SBM has already had its cross. Not looking good for the short term, am still a gold bull for the long term but not holding any for the time being
  10. Was LOL.... but now you have me spooked Mick, especially as I am in the middle of watching Game of Thrones "Poseidon was god of the sea, earthquakes, storms, and horses and is considered one of the most bad-tempered, moody and greedy Olympian gods. He was known to be vengeful when insulted. He is the son of Cronus and Rhea and was swallowed by his father along with Hades, Demeter, Hestia and Hera.Sep 19, 2014"
  11. terrible close ... so much for that..... pump n dump
  12. More good news... up 25%, will be interesting to see what the grade is when it comes in

    Gold in AUD

smacked down overnight and a bit more pain to come for the goldies I reckon.... but this should prove to be a relatively insignificant hiccup thereafter
  14. at this price the stock goes up or down 10% every day Mick, nothing to read into it.... at these prices any meaningful move would start with at least 50% in a day
  15. good news from out on the Lake...... 99.97% lithium carbonate achieved, combined with costs being lower than hard rock and being able to return the water to the environment I'm convinced LKE will be a winner, lithium doesn't grow on trees as Musk likes to spruik
  16. yep, nothing of interest https://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20201008/pdf/...gkqk3g9f7l4.pdf
  17. strewth.... you are on a hot run Nipper !
  18. Yesterdays announcement should be enough cause for the enthusiasm https://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20201007/pdf/...f3wll5dx42v.pdf about 1 million people worldwide have RP11 and global market thought to be worth 1-2bn annually
  19. underwhelming response to this announcement too, probably already priced in https://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20201005/pdf/...bq8nb62fytp.pdf
  20. Great book Nipper, well worth a read for anyone seeking resilience to this crazy world Was interested in a comment made in the threads below If you point out the BS and obvious profit scamming by big business you inevitably get called a climate change denier. I would have thought it more likely you get called a leftie, greenie bum or something like that.... climate change deniers are often complicit in profit scamming. But whatever side of the fence you sit, we would all prefer to have money going on projects that provide a truthful benefit to slowing down climate change in an economic way. That is always going to be rorted to some degree, but we cant let this stop trying to make changes to how we procure energy. There is plenty of money to be made by making the changes needed, the economy does not have to stall.... just change its focus. Economies would flourish if we don't have to deal with natural disasters constantly, my thoughts are with my friends in California dealing with a terrible situation at the moment. One thing for sure re the energy sector is we are running out of time...... 2.5 m of sea level rise is already locked in, that takes out quite a few of my favourite places. Earth scientists have been ignored for far too many decades now.... lets hope that most investors can try to help influence a path to where our energy needs are met, without inflaming the dire repercussions that are to some degree already locked in. https://www.abc.net.au/news/science/2020-10...-years/12705230
  21. funny how Musk says there is enough lithium in Nevada for the worlds needs and then he goes to North Carolina for a contract, same country at least I doubt very much that the Sth American or Oz sources wont be in demand also

think you are right Mick, time to wait for lower prices.... have mostly bailed on the PMs for now...forget about what I said about RMS.... saw that you had lightened on these already

  25. yes I think the market was up over 500 at one stage when I looked overnight pretty obvious a new down swing is starting, I reckon we will see the SP500 down to about 2500-2600 soon enough.... could be a few bargains in the offering then .... see chart
